    Abstract: A method for providing tracking reference signal (TRS) availability information to idle mode or inactive mode user equipment (UE) is proposed to enhance the TRS-based power saving design. A UE operates in an idle mode or an inactive mode of communication with a wireless communication network, and receives a system information block (SIB) from the wireless communication network when the UE is operating in the idle mode or the inactive mode. The received SIB includes TRS configuration. The UE determines whether a TRS is present on a TRS occasion indicated by the TRS configuration based on TRS availability information signaled from the wireless communication network, and receives the TRS from the wireless communication network in response to determining that the TRS is present.

    Abstract: A method of providing UE-initiated PDCP status report to reduce packet latency under Multi-RAT Dual Connectivity (MR-DC) is proposed. UE initializes PDCP status report based on some predefined condition configured by the network. The PDCP status report indicates which PDCP SDU is still not received by the UE via one radio link control (RLC) entity, and the network can retransmit the missing PDCP SDU via another RLC entity quickly. The network can enable/disable the PDCP status report via PDCP control PDU or via radio resource control (RRC) signaling. The PDCP status can be used for re-transmission of PDCP SDU on another RLC entity. The PDCP status can also be used as an indication of issues on one RLC entity, resulting in duplication being activated thereafter. The PDCP status report should be sent to the RLC entity that does not suffer from the PDCP packet loss.

    Abstract: A method of supporting active bandwidth part (BWP) switching under carrier aggregation (CA) is proposed. To avoid longer switching delay and multiple interruptions in other component carriers (CCs)/cells, the starting time of the later active BWP switching in one cell should fall outside the switching delay of the earlier active BWP switching in another cell. If the later active BWP switching is DCI-based, then the network should schedule the later active BWP switching outside the switching delay of the earlier active BWP switching. If the later active BWP switching is timer-based, then the UE should not perform the later active BWP switching until the earlier active BWP switching is completed.

    Abstract: In one aspect, a User Equipment (UE) performs Radio Resource Management (RRM) measurements on downlink signals with a first cycle period equal to the UE's Discontinuous Reception (DRX) cycle period. The RRM measurements cycle period is lengthened when UE detects that a signal quality measurement of the primary cell is greater than the sum of a positive offset and a signal quality measurement of a neighboring cell having the best signal quality among all of UE's neighboring cells. In another aspect, a UE de-multiplexes a paging indication which precedes a Synchronization Signal Block (SSB) in time and is generated using the same sequence generation formula as that for generating a Secondary Synchronization Signal (SSS) in the SSB. From the de-multiplexed paging indication, the UE detects that it is paged for message reception and wakes up to receive the message in a next data reception period of the UE's DRX cycle.

    Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided for polar code sub-block interleaving and bit selection. In one novel aspect, middle-part interlaced sub-block interleaving is provided for polar code interleaving. In one embodiment, the middle part of the polar code is interlaced and generates the interleaved polar code. In another embodiment, the lower part and the upper part are also sub-block interleaved with the middle-part interlaced method. In another novel, rate-dependent unified bit selection is provided. The bit selection is categorized into three operation categories of repetition, puncturing and the shortening. Each category follows unified bit selection rule with different categories differ only in the access scheme. In one embodiment, the circular buffer is used for bit selection.

    Abstract: A method of wireless communication of a UE is provided. The UE determines resources of a first PDSCH and resources of second at least one PDSCH on a cell, the first PDSCH being a unicast PDSCH specific to the UE. The UE determines that the first PDSCH overlaps with the second at least one PDSCH in a time domain. The UE determines whether the second at least one PDSCH is another unicast PDSCH specific to the UE. When the second at least one PDSCH is not another unicast PDSCH specific to the UE, a duration required for decoding the first PDSCH meets a duration threshold, and the cell is in a first frequency range, the UE (a) refrains from decoding the first PDSCH independently of a transport block size of the second at least one PDSCH or (b) determines a transport block size of the second at least one PDSCH.
