摘要: An embodiment of a method of controlling access to a computing resource within a shared computing environment begins with a first step of measuring performance parameters for workloads accessing the computing resource to determine a performance parameter vector for the workloads. The method continues with a second step of estimating a controller function for the computing resource by analysis of recent performance parameters and recent throughputs. The controller function comprises a mathematical operation which takes an input and provides an output. In a third step, the method compares the performance parameter vector to a reference performance parameter vector to determine an error parameter. In a fourth step, the method applies the controller function to the error parameter to determine a target throughput for each of the workloads. The method concludes with a fifth step of adjusting access to the computing resource for each work load having a throughput limit different from about the target throughput by reducing or increasing the throughput limit for the workload to about the target throughput.

摘要: A side air bag is disclosed for a motor vehicle, and takes the form of a three-dimensional airbag which is formed from two super-imposed layers of fabric. The super-imposed layers of fabric, when laid flat, have a substantial common area of super-imposition. Infill pieces formed from either at least one gusset forming insert or from a portion or portions of fabric of one or both of the fabric layers which extend beyond the area of super-imposition are provided. The air-bag has an inflatable region towards the upper part of the air-bag and an inflatable region towards the lower part of the air-bag. The two inflatable regions are separated by a part of the air-bag which is constrained when the air-bag is inflated, to have a thickness less than the thickness of either of the said regions.

摘要: A side airbag unit for a vehicle seat including a generally cylindrical gas generator unit having a longitudinal axis. The vehicle seat has a backrest with a front surface and a side surface. In order to achieve the result that the airbag requires little additional space and nevertheless is relatively easy to mount on the vehicle seat, the longitudinal axis extends generally parallel to the front surface and perpendicular to the side surface of the vehicle seat.

摘要: According to one embodiment, a method comprises scheduling, by a weighted proportional-share scheduler, access of competing flows to a computing service in accordance with respective weights assigned to the competing flows. The method further comprises autonomously determining, by a controller, based at least in part on received performance measurement for the flows, values of the respective weights assigned to the competing flows for achieving respective performance goals desired for the competing flows. When determined by the controller that the values of the respective weights assigned to the competing flows should be changed for achieving the performance goals, the controller communicates the changed values of the respective weights to the weighted proportional-share scheduler.

摘要: In an intermediate bus architecture power system, a voltage controller that generates control signals for controlling an intermediate bus voltage (VIB) output from a first stage DC-to-DC power converter to at least one second stage DC-to-DC power converter via the intermediate voltage bus. A receiver receives values of the current input to the first stage converter, or the current and voltage output by the first stage converter. The controller determines a first value of an efficiency measure using the received values corresponding to a first VIB, and determines a second value of the efficiency measure for a second VIB higher than the first VIB. Control signals cause the first stage converter to set the VIB to a voltage higher than the second VIB if the second efficiency measure value represents a higher system efficiency than the first efficiency measure value, and to a voltage lower than the first VIB if the second efficiency measure value represents a lower system efficiency than the first efficiency measure value.

摘要: The present invention relates to electronic mail. In particular, it relates to a method and system for processing electronic mail, wherein mails are stored in a space efficient way by removing redundancy from the content. Prior art is known for doing a limited version of this on a mail client. In order to provide a method and system which is adequate for server operation it is proposed to perform the steps of: splitting the content of an incoming e-mail into elementary mail segments by parsing and optionally normalizing the e-mail body based on a regular grammar with transduction rules; computing a unique ID for each elementary mail segment; storing the normalized or original form of an elementary mail segment together with a link to its respective parent elementary mail segment in a table in a way retrievable by said unique ID; and reconstructing an original e-mail from a concatenation of a respective sequence of said elementary mail segments wherein the unique ID for each elementary mail segment is used as a key for accessing said table and retrieving the respective elementary mail segment.
