摘要: A charged-particle beam instrument (such as a transmission electron microscope) which facilitates modifying the diameters of aperture stops installed above and below (on the beam entrance and exit sides) the specimen chamber and exchanging the aperture stops. The instrument has bottom and bottom polepieces forming the specimen chamber, aperture stops each having plural holes, pushing mechanisms for pushing the aperture stops against the polepieces and supporting the stops, and stop drive mechanisms for sliding the aperture stops in a direction perpendicular to the path of the beam in response to a manipulation performed outside the electron optical column. The aperture stops are made of a metal foil or sheet and provide a cover over the opening of at least one beam passage hole in the polepieces that faces into the specimen chamber.

摘要: An information processing apparatus supplies time information by a real-time-clock (RTC) that is corrected and a correction history is recorded. When a signal representing a correct-time indication is received, a correction processing section corrects a setting time provided from the RTC using the signal and a result of the correction is recorded into a log memory. When a signal representing a correct-time indication is not received or detected, the correction processing section records failure of correction of the setting time of the RTC into a log memory. The correction processing section is also capable of reading a history of correction information from the log memory and correcting the setting time provided by the RTC based on the correction history.

摘要: A positioning apparatus includes an X stage, a linear motor (X-axis) which drives the X stage along the X-axis, a linear motor (Y-axis) which drives a Y stage along the Y-axis, a laser interferometer which detects position information of the stages along the X and Y directions, and a controller which controls the linear motor (X-axis) and linear motor (Y-axis) based on a detection result of the laser interferometer. The controller controls the linear motor (Y-axis) based on the position information of the stages along the X direction detected by the laser interferometer, so as to cancel a force generated along the Y-axis by the linear motor (X-axis) when the linear motor (X-axis) is to drive the stage in the X direction.
