    Abstract: Beam management enhancements for advanced millimeter wave (mm Wave) operations are disclosed. As a part of channel state information (CSI) reporting configuration, a user equipment may include an interference plus noise measurement of beams for consideration in beam management. The UE measures a set of signaling resources of each beam for power contribution and interference plus noise. According to the particular configuration, the UE may rank all of the available beams into a subset of the highest ranked beams, ranked either by the interference plus noise measurement, by the power contribution metric, or by a combination of both. The UE reports an identification of the subset to the serving base station which determines the beam to use for subsequent communications with the UE.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Techniques described herein may provide power control configuration parameters using MAC-CE messaging. A base station may transmit a MAC-CE message that includes a power control configuration identifier. The UE may identify a power control configuration according to the power control configuration identifier. The power control configuration may include one or more power control parameters and a path loss reference signal identifier. The UE may update the path loss reference signal for an uplink transmission based on the received MAC-CE message and adjust power for performance of the uplink transmission according to one or more measurements of the updated path loss reference signal.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. One method may include monitoring, via one or more sensors of a first user equipment (UE), at least one of a thermal overload condition or an exposure condition associated with a first communication link between a first UE and a base station. Based on the monitoring, for example, the first UE may determine that at least one of the thermal overload condition or the exposure condition exceeds a corresponding predetermined switch threshold. Based on the determining, a second communication link may be established between the first UE and a second UE, where the second UE is configured to operate as a relay UE, for communications between the first UE and the base station via (in-part) the second communication link.

    Handling dynamic blockage in millimeter wave communication systems

    Abstract: Aspects are provided which handle dynamic blockage of beams transmitted by a base station to UEs in millimeter wave communication. In one aspect, the base station identifies at least two UEs with which the base station has established a link and which may be potentially blocked from the base station by a dynamic blocker such as a moving vehicle. After the potentially blocked UEs are identified, the base station schedules all identified UEs for joint beam training and receives feedback transmitted by the UEs to determine if a dynamically blocked spatial region exists. If a blockage exists, the base station performs a follow-up procedure to avoid the dynamically blocked spatial region and provide coverage for the UEs, for example, by blanking out or not using blocked beams in subsequent beam training and/or by coordinating with a neighbor cell. The base station may thus proactively improve coverage of dynamically blocked UEs.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which spatial relations for one or more uplink reference signal transmissions, such as sounding reference signal (SRS) transmissions, may be configured and a particular spatial relation indicated in a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE). A base station may configure a pool of available spatial relations for use in SRS transmissions, and the MAC-CE may indicate which spatial relation of the set of available spatial relations is to be used. In other cases, the MAC-CE may provide all of the spatial relation information for an associated SRS transmission. The UE, responsive to receiving the MAC-CE, may transmit a SRS to the base station using the indicated spatial relation.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications that support power control in full duplex communication are described. In some wireless communications systems, a user equipment (UE) may experience antenna isolation for communication of downlink and uplink data traffic. Based on the antenna isolation, the UE may realize an increased channel capacity for full-duplex communication. As part of the full-duplex communication, the UE may identify characteristics of a potential downlink signal on formatted slots of the channel. The UE may determine an uplink transmit power control configured to account for the characteristics. The determination may include a configured transmit power control for beamformed signaling at the UE, and may be based on signal reception quality for potential downlink transmissions. Based on the determination, the UE may either perform uplink transmission on a resource block allocation of the formatted slots or forgo uplink transmission.

A wireless communication device transmits uplink-downlink beam reciprocity information and receives via an antenna array of the wireless communication device, a plurality of downlink beam reference signals based on a beam selection. The wireless communication device receives a downlink communication signal using a reception beam configured based on an adjusted plurality of weights.     Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications that support inter-user equipment (UE) coordination (IUC) for beamformed communications are described. A first UE may receive, using a first spatial filter, a first sidelink control message including a first sidelink resource reservation associated with a second UE. Additionally, or alternatively, the first UE may receive, using a second spatial filter, a second sidelink control message including a second sidelink resource reservation associated with a third UE. The first UE may transmit, to the second UE or the third UE, an IUC message that indicates a conflict between the first sidelink resource reservation and the second sidelink resource reservation. The IUC message that indicates a conflict may be based on a relationship between the first spatial filter used to receive the first sidelink resource reservation and the second spatial filter used to receive the second sidelink resource reservation.
