摘要: Flue gas is treated for the presence of SO.sub.3, without resorting to ammonia injection, by adding a powder into the flue gas and subsequently bringing the flue gas into gas-liquid contact with an absorbing fluid, whereby the SO.sub.2 present in the flue gas is removed by absorption into the absorbing fluid. The treatment process may also include introducing the flue gas into a dust collector, whereby dust, including the powder present in the flue gas, is collected, and/or recovering heat from the flue gas by means of a heat exchanger, whereby the flue gas is cooled. A system for treating flue gas is also provided.

摘要: The present invention provides a gas-liquid contact apparatus which can make the equipment more compact and reduce the cost while achieving high gas-liquid contact efficiency. In the apparatus of the present invention, an oxidation tank (2) is installed in proximity to an absorption tower (1), and an absorbing fluid (3) is stored in this oxidation tank (2). The level H of the absorbing fluid (3) is determined so as to be above the position of nozzles (7), whereby the absorbing fluid is spouted upward from the nozzles (7). Flue gas is introduced into the absorption tower (1) from a flue gas inlet section (8) and made to flow upward at a high velocity, so that the peaks of the spouted streams are raised above level H. The absorbing fluid (3) is caught by catcher device (11) installed at a position above level H, and returned to the oxidation tank (2) through a circulation pipe (12). An air pipe (20) is connected to the circulation pipe (12) so as to suck in air.

摘要: A method of controlling the oxidation of sulfites in a flue gas desulfurization process involves treating the exhaust gas with an absorbing fluid containing a calcium compound and controlling the oxidation of sulfites by regulating oxygen flow into the absorbing fluid. Oxygen flow is controlled by continuously monitoring the oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) of the absorbing fluid relative to the same fluid in a completely oxidized state using a detector with a plurality of fluid tanks, one of which functions as a reference tank at any particular time. The fully oxidized reference tank is periodically switched, reducing adherence of oxidizing substances to the ORP electrodes, resulting in more accurate measurements and reduced chemical oxygen demand of the waste water.

摘要: A slurry sampling device (3) for sampling a slurry in which solid particles are dispersed has upper and lower blocks (105, 109), and a rotator (102) for collection which is rotatably held between the blocks and has a plurality of through holes (111) each having a volume corresponding to the amount of sample to be collected. The upper and lower blocks are provided with slurry conduits (101, 108) and carrier fluid conduits (107, 110) which can be communicated with the through holes so that slurry and carrier fluid can flow therethrough. Arc-shaped long grooves (113, 114) are provided on portions of the upper and lower blocks where ends of the slurry conduits (101, 108) come into contact with, or are adjacent to, the rotator, so that at least one of the through holes is thereby constantly in contact with the long grooves. In the method for sampling slurry a part of the slurry is pumped (2) from a slurry tank (1) and returned (4) to the slurry tank, and that part of the slurry is sampled intermittently by the sampling device (3) and sent to an analyzer (6) for analysis of the composition of the slurry.

摘要: For the purposes of solving a problem due to a fly ash and HF in an exhaust gas, maintaining the activity of calcium carbonate as an absorbent, and recovering a high-purity gypsum, there is here provided a method for desulfurizing an exhaust smoke which comprises the steps of leading the exhaust gas containing the fly ash to a gas absorbing step, removing SO.sub.2 and the fly ash from the exhaust gas by the use of an absorbing solution slurry containing calcium carbonate as an absorbent in the gas absorbing step, and blowing air into the absorbing solution slurry circulating through the gas absorbing step to oxidize it and to thereby produce the gypsum, the aforesaid method being characterized by drawing a portion of the absorbing solution slurry therefrom, leading it to a magnetic field to separate and recover the fly ash from the absorbing solution slurry, and then returning, to the gas absorbing step, a portion or all of the absorbing solution slurry from which the fly ash has been separated.

摘要: A method for continuously measuring the concentration of CaCO.sub.3 in slurries comprising CaCO.sub.3 is described. The method comprises continuously sampling a given amount of the slurry, feeding the sampled slurry into an agitated continuous reactor container which is isolated from the outside air, keeping the slurry in the reactor container at a temperature of at least 50.degree. C., adding sulfuric acid or hydrochloric acid to adjust the pH to below 4, blowing air into the slurry in the reactor container, withdrawing from the reactor container CO.sub.2, produced by the reaction between CaCO.sub.3 and the acid, by entrainment with the air, and calculating the concentration of CaCO.sub.3 in the slurry from the concentration of CO.sub.2 in the withdrawn gas, the amount of the sampled slurry and the flow rate of the blown air.
