    摘要: A technique that can efficiently achieve migration of a configuration and data between storage units with varying constructions of configuration information and that can alleviate burdens of personal operation by an administrator, etc. With the configuration information of each storage unit controlled by the storage control server, based on each piece of configuration information, the transfer-source configuration information is converted into information necessary for establishing the logical partition configuration of a storage unit which has the transfer-destination logical partition function. The information prepared by the conversion is transmitted to the transfer-destination storage unit and the configuration with the transfer-source logical configuration set as the transfer-destination logical partition is updated in the transfer-destination storage unit. After the migration of the configuration, the data is migrated using a remote copy function of carrying out data copy between the transfer-source and transfer-destination logical devices.

    摘要: The present invention provides a storage system whereby it is also possible to back up the generational management information of a copy source disk array device.The disk array device of the primary site manages back-up data of a main volume, in a plurality of generations, by means of differential snapshots. The differential data of the main volume and the main pool is transferred from the primary site to the secondary site, at a prescribed timing. The secondary site holds the secondary volume, which is a copy of the main volume, and a secondary pool which is a copy of the main pool. The primary site also transfers the generational management information to the secondary site. The generational management information may also comprise a differential bitmap table and a withdrawal destination address management table. The secondary site holds a copy of the generational management information. Thereby, it is possible to back up the whole of the data, including the generational management information, and hence protection against failure is improved.

    摘要: According to this invention, in an environment in which are intermixed a plurality of storage subsystems with different processing performance, volumes are automatically relocated according to the state of use of each storage subsystem. A storage system comprises a plurality of storage subsystems 1, 2 with different processing performance. When unevenness occurs in the states of use of the storage subsystems 1, 2, and movement of a volume 2A becomes necessary, a management server 3 issues an instruction for volume movement to the copy source system 2 and to the copy target system 1 (S1). The management server 3 notifies a service-providing server 4 of the volume movement (S2). At the copy source, the volume 2A is allocated to a dummy volume 2B (S3), and at the copy target, an unused volume 1C is allocated to a dummy volume 1B (S4). Then volume copying is executed, and the volume is moved between the storage subsystems 1, 2.

    摘要: An electrical unit mounting structure is provided to dispose an electrical unit that emits a large amount of heat such that cooling performance is ensured. In one embodiment, an injector drive unit (IDU) 7 is mounted to an upper wall of a collector 6, which is disposed on an uppermost part of the engine 1 between the banks. The injector drive unit 7 is equipped with the cooling fins 7b on the lower surface thereof and is cooled with good efficiency by cooling air flowing in the longitudinal direction between the engine cover 10 and the collector 6. The electrical unit mounting structure can be used in a variety of engine arrangements such as a longitudinally arranged V-type engine, a transversely arranged V-type engine, a longitudinally arranged inline engine, or a transversely arranged inline engine.

A migration destination NAS inherits the host name and IP address of a migration source NAS. The network environment parameters of the migration source NAS are changed to different values. The migration destination NAS causes data to migrate from a migration source storage region, in which a shared file system of the migration source NAS is mounted, to a migration destination storage region. In a case where there is an access request from the client during data migration, the migration destination NAS selects one of the storage region in correspondence to the migration status of the requested data and provides that data. Data of a “not copied” status is provided from the migration source storage region. Data of a “copied” status is provided from the migration destination storage region.
