    摘要: The present invention presents a method and a controller for selecting the type of connection used to connect a terminal device to a serving base station. The connection type is selected on the basis of monitored communication-environmental parameters of the terminal device. The selection is made between a direct cellular radio connection and a relayed cellular radio connection. The relayed connection is established through another terminal device acting as a relay terminal for the connection being relayed. A direct device-to-device link between the two terminal devices is established as a cognitive radio connection, and a radio access technology and communication parameters of the device-to-device link may be negotiated between the terminal devices. The relay terminal then links the device-to-device link to a direct cellular radio connection between the relay terminal and the serving base station.

    摘要: A solution is provided for dynamic allocation of cell identifiers in a cellular mobile telecommunication system. Cell identifiers being reused in a cellular radio access network of the cellular mobile telecommunication system are managed by a cell identifier manager configured to handle dynamic allocation of the cell identifiers to a plurality of base stations. Upon detection of a new base station or reactivation of an existing base station in the radio access network, the cell identifier manager allocates a cell identifier to the base station in such a manner that two base stations having the same cell identifier do not interfere with one another, i.e. do not cause cell identification problems in the radio access network.

    摘要: A method and an apparatus for resource allocation in a local wireless node of a system of a plurality of local wireless nodes is disclosed. An inner circle subgradient resource allocation iteration is performed based on information received from at least one other wireless node of the system and an iteration parameter until a convergent result. An updated iteration parameter is provided by of at least one outer circle subgradient iteration based on the convergent result of the inner circle subgradient resource allocation iteration. The inner circle subgradient resource allocation iteration is then repeated at least once using the updated iteration parameter until a convergent result. Resources are then allocated based on the iterations.

Radio resource of the plurality of cells is divided into more than one radio resource groups. A network infrastructure element detects a requirement of radio resource allocation for a user equipment and determines effective interference to be generated by the required radio resource to a defined group of neighbouring cells. User equipment is allocated a radio resource from one of the radio resource groups on the basis of the determined effective interference to be generated to the defined group of neighbouring cells. Inter-cell interference decreases and the throughput of the cellular system increases, but the exchange of physical layer information is not increased.
