    摘要: A pair of main-view and sub-view video streams and a graphics stream are recorded on a BD-ROM disc. Metadata is provided in each GOP in the sub-view video stream. The metadata includes offset information. The offset information specifies offset control for a plurality of pictures constituting a GOP. Offset control is to provide a left offset and right offset for the horizontal coordinates in a graphics plane to generate a pair of graphics planes, and to combine them separately with main-view and sub-view video planes. The sub-view video stream is packetized and multiplexed in a transport stream. A header of each TS packet includes a TS priority flag. TS packets containing the metadata have a different value of TS priority flag from TS packets containing sub-view pictures.

    摘要: Playback device for playing back graphics stream according to stream selection table recorded on recording medium. Stream number register stores, as current stream number, one of a plurality of stream numbers written in the stream selection table. Capability register indicates capability to play back graphics. Procedure means determines playback type of graphics corresponding to the current stream number, based on the playback capability indicated by the capability register. Playback of graphics streams falls into two types: first playback type in which a monoscopic graphics stream is used; and second playback type in which a pair of left-eye graphics stream and right-eye graphics stream is used to perform a stereoscopic playback. The capability register indicates whether capability to perform the stereoscopic playback using the pair of left-eye and right-eye graphics streams is present in graphics decoder.

The one or more display sets included in the left view graphics stream are in one-to-one correspondence with the one or more display sets included in the right view graphics stream, and an identical playback time for the video stream on the playback time axis is set in each of the corresponding display sets. Each display set includes state information indicating whether the data is all data necessary for displaying one screen worth of one or more graphics objects, or is a difference from the immediately previous display set, and the state information included in corresponding display sets indicate identical content.
