    摘要: A pressure sensitive switch useful in a mat of the kind adapted to operate a door in response to a person''s stepping on the mat comprises a switch assembly composed of a pair of sheet-like electrical conductors between which is interposed a sheet of resiliently compressible and expansible non-conductive material such as foamed rubber or plastic having a plurality of openings therethrough in each of which is accommodated a bridging member operable to establish a conductive path between the two conductors when the latter are moved relatively toward one another in response to the application to the mat of a compressive force. The switch assembly is enclosed within a nonconductive rubber or plastic sheath. Conductive wires connected to the two conductors of the switch assembly extend through the sheath for connection to a source of energy and to the actuating mechanism for the door to be operated. Means are provided for limiting the compressive force to which said bridging member may be subjected.

    摘要: A spark plug terminal having an initially tubular body portion between its ends is provided with an axially elongated indentation in one side thereof, the maximum depth of the groove being such that the inner surface of the indentation bears against the inner surface of the diametrically opposed side of the body portion and the width of the indentation being such that the sides of the latter engage the corresponding sides of the body portion. The body portion may remain axially straight or it may be bent between its ends to form an elbow, the direction of bending being such that the groove is at the inside of the elbow. One end of the terminal is provided with means for attaching it to a conductor and the opposite end of the terminal is provided with means for connecting it to the electrode of a spark plug. A sleeve or boot of dielectric material is assembled with the terminal.

    摘要: A device for mounting an article such as a wire or bundle of wires on a support having an opening therein, the mounting device having a body of such size as to pass through the opening and a pair of flexible, substantially triangular flanges extending from opposite sides of the body and together having a length greater than the corresponding dimension of the opening so as to project beyond the latter, the flanges being flexible so as to permit them to pass through the opening. Each flange has two portions, one of which extends substantially normal to the body and the other of which extends substantially normal to the first portion, the two portions merging along a smoothly rounded curve. The body carries means for attaching it to the article to be supported and between the attaching means and the flanges is a deformable cushioning rib which cooperates with the flanges to provide a rattle-free mounting of the mounting device on the support.

    摘要: A new and improved terminal retaining connector block. A resilient tang is provided in a housing passage of the block. When an electrical terminal is inserted in the passage, the tang is depressed by the terminal and then snaps back into a recess in the terminal, locking the terminal in the passage and urging the terminal into firm contact with a wall of the passage shaped to fit the terminal. The terminal further includes projections which orient the terminal to provide for both the initial and final alignment of the recess and the tang. The tang may be depressed to remove the terminal. Another housing similar in structure and including a mating terminal is coupled to the first housing whereby the terminals are connected to complete an electrical circuit.

    摘要: A transistorized flasher circuit for vehicle signal lamps comprising a free running multivibrator, incorporating a capacitor and a programmable unijunction transistor, for cyclically and intermittently driving an output transistor into a conductive state as the capacitor is alternately charged and discharged. A relay is provided and includes a coil connected in series with the output circuit of the output transistor and a set of normally open contacts which are connected in series with a lamp load and a start switch and which are closed in response to the energization of the coil. A charging circuit including the capacitor and a diode connected in series therewith is connected in parallel with the set of relay contacts for charging the capacitor along a first path when the set of relays contacts open. A discharging circuit is provided for discharging the capacitor along a second path, which does not include the diode, when the relay contacts close.

    摘要: A control for an electric circuit of the kind having switching means adjustable between circuit making and breaking relations and wherein the adjustment of the switching means is effected by a thermally sensitive force applying member acting on the switching means, the force exerted by the force applying member being substantially instantaneously variable in response to changes in its temperature to and from a predetermined critical temperature. The force applying member is dimensionally stable until it is heated to or cooled below its critical temperature whereupon it either expands or contracts suddenly and with the ability to do substantial work. The force applying member may either expand or contract in response to an increase in temperature depending upon the manner in which the member is formed.
