Abstract:
A head depression type dispenser comprises a cylinder formed of an elastic material such as rubber. The cylinder is arranged between a head and a cap, and is constructed to operate as a piston for sucking and pressurizing liquid by axial deformation of the cylinder upon movement of the head. When the depressing force applied to its head is removed after the cylinder is deformed, the cylinder will return to the original shape by its own elasticity. In addition, a sealing piece extends from the cylinder into the passage of the head, thereby closely contacting the inner wall of the passage to form a secondary valve. The sealing piece becomes isolated from the inner wall of the passage when the hydraulic pressure in the cylinder exceeds the elasticity of the sealing piece, allowing the flow of the compressed liquid through the passage, and closely contacts the inner wall of the passage by the elasticity of the sealing piece when the hydraulic pressure becomes lower than the elasticity of the sealing piece. Since the cylinder can deform in its axial direction, it can be sufficiently deformed, thereby sufficiently pressurizing the liquid to a high pressure.
Abstract:
A dispensing pump is characterized by an elastomer bulb configured as a cup and having a tubular neck portion extending from its base. The cup portion is inverted in a pump housing with the neck extending upwardly from the center of the cup base into a stem member where it concentrically and resiliently engages a nipple. The rim of the cup portion is positioned to overlie a dip tube inlet into the housing. In its quiescent position the bulb is slightly longitudinally compressed by forcing the stem, neck and center of the cup portion into the bulb chamber, thereby forming a convolution at the periphery of the cup base. The convolution provides a positive seal of a vent passage which is open only during pump actuation. Actuation is effected by pushing the stem further into the cup, which action is aided by a spring snapping effect in the bulb, thereby forcing fluid from the pump chamber up through the neck and around the nipple. Relaxation of the stem permits the spring action to restore the bulb to its quiescent state while the cup rim is drawn into the chamber to unblock the dip tube and draw fluid into the chamber.
Abstract:
A manually operable dispenser pump construction wherein liquid product is received from a supply container into an axially compressible bellows. A product discharge assembly including a valve is associated therewith and adapted to move between open discharge and closed storage valve positions by collapsing movement of the bellows. In a preferred form of the invention, the bellows includes a trigger mounted to a relatively rigid front wall portion thereof. The bellows of such form is fluid sealingly snap engaged with a housing portion of the product discharge assembly and a pivot area about which the bellows front wall and the trigger move is formed by a thin wall area of the bellows disposed below its connection with the housing.
Abstract:
A manually operable dispenser pump construction wherein liquid product is received from a supply container into an axially compressible bellows. The bellows in turn includes product discharge valve means associated therewith and adapted to move between open discharge and closed storage valve positions by movement of the bellows. In one form of the invention the product discharge valve valve includes a gooseneck portion integral with the bellows and which is moved out of closed position by said axial bellows compression. In another form the product discharge valve includes a generally circular gasket axially disposed between the bellows and its actuation means wherein said gasket is adapted to move into and out of sealing contact with a valve seat dependent on the compression of said bellows.
Abstract:
A multiple dose syringe has a first valve defining a first valve opening pressure and a second valve defining a second valve opening pressure. A storage chamber in fluid communication with the second valve stores multiple doses of a substance therein and includes an outlet for dispensing multiple doses of the stored substance therethrough. A compression surface is movable between first and second positions and defines a compression chamber between the compression surface and the first valve. Movement of the compression surface in a direction from the first position toward the second position dispenses substance in the compression chamber through the first valve and out of the syringe. Movement of the compression surface in a direction from the second position toward the first position causes substance to flow from the storage chamber through the second valve and into the compression chamber.

Abstract:
An applicator head for discharging a pasty medium from a container, including a metering chamber, a first housing part bounding the metering chamber in sections, with an actuating element, and a second housing part. The first housing part and the second housing part form a constructional unit connectable to a container storing the medium and closing the container. By actuating the actuating element, the medium is conveyed out of the container into the metering chamber and/or is discharged from the metering chamber. A sealing element of a plastically or elastically deformable plastic is provided, and is arranged such that the container is closable in a sealing manner by the constructional unit. The sealing element is manufactured as a common component with at least one further element of the applicator head.
Abstract:
A device comprises a first portion including a first polymer, and a second portion that is relatively flexible in comparison to the first portion and includes a second polymer that is substantially not bondable to the first polymer. A chamber of the device is hermetically sealable with respect to ambient atmosphere and is defined by (i) an interior of the second portion, and/or (ii) a space formed between the first and second portions. A third portion of the device includes a third polymer that is bondable to the first and second polymers and fixedly secures the first and second portions to each other.
Abstract:
A piston structure of a pumping-type cosmetic container. The piston structure includes two pistons which come into close contact with an inner wall of a container body and are overlapped. During a pumping operation, a first piston firstly ascends to a certain section and then lifts up a second piston located on the lower part thereof such that the first piston and the second piston ascend together; thus, it is possible to reduce the volume taken up by the pistons when the contents are initially filled, while the thickness for a normal operation of the pistons is still maintained, so that relatively more contents for the same volume can be filled in the same container.
