Abstract:
A process for preparing a copolymer latex comprising emulsion polymerizing an aliphatic conjugated diene monomer and other monomer copolymerizable therewith in the presence of a cyclic unsaturated hydrocarbon having one unsaturated bond in a ring, in which, preferably a monomer mixture which does not contain the aliphatic conjugated diene monomer is added after the addition of a monomer mixture containing the aliphatic conjugated diene monomer, or a part of a chain transfer agent is added after the addition of the monomers. This copolymer latex is useful as an adhesive composition, a paper coating composition, an adhesive composition for back-sizing carpets, an adhesive composition for rock fiber materials, a paper coating composition for gravure printing, and a color developing composition for a pressure sensitive copying paper.
Abstract:
A method for preventing the generation of the hydration of 4-hydroxy-4'-isopropoxydiphenylsulfone characterized in that the particles of 4-hydroxy-4'-isopropoxydiphenylsulfone are subjected to wet grinding in water in the presence of diphenylsulfone derivatives represented by the general formula (I); ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents hydrogen or lower alkyl, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 represent each independently lower alkyl, n and m denote 0 or an integer of from 1 to 4, with a proviso that n and m can never be 0 at the same time in case R.sup.1 represents hydrogen, is disclosed. By using the dispersible solution of color developer according to the present invention, the production of high sensitive and unclean background-free thermal sensitive recording papers can be accomplished.
Abstract:
A transparent recording medium is disclosed which can directly record a fine, precise image. With the recording medium, a compact, fine image occupying a small storage space can be easily enlarged and confirmed by an enlarged projection. It is prepared by applying a coating liquid for recording comprising a developer in which a hydroxyl group with a developing function is blocked by an N-substituted carbamoyl group or an O-substituted oxycarbonyl group, an iron salt of an organic acid or a leuco dye, a near-infrared absorbing agent, and a binder, uniformly dissolved in an organic solvent such as MEK, to a transparent plastic substrate, and drying to obtain a transparent recording layer with a thickness of 3 .mu.m to 8 .mu.m. A visible, precise, fine direct image can then be recorded using a semiconductor laser beam.
Abstract:
The present invention is characterized by using an ampholytic latex as binder in a carbonless copying paper prepared by coating on a support a coating composition comprising a stilt agent, a binder and anionic microcapsules containing a color former and drying the composition. The present invention is further characterized by using an association forming polymer in a coating composition in a carbonless copying paper prepared by coating on a support a coating composition containing a stilt agent, a binder mainly composed of a latex and microcapsules containing a color former and drying the coating composition. The present invention is further characterized by using an association forming polymer in a coating composition without using a stilt agent in a carbonless pressure-sensitive copying paper prepared by coating a coating composition comprising a latex and microcapsules containing a color former and drying the composition.
