Abstract:
A sortation conveyor has a divert guide path which is configured to guide pushers to engage articles disposed on an endless conveying surface at an initial impact which does not result in an out of control situation even at high speeds. The divert guide path is disposed at a plurality of divert angles, and guides pushers to engage articles at a low initial contact divert angle and first lateral speed and to accelerate the articles to a final divert angle and second, higher, lateral speed. The pushers may be undergoing lateral acceleration at the time initial contact is made with the articles.

Abstract:
A conveyor system includes first and second upstanding posts disposed in longitudinally spaced apart relation to one another. Each post is surmounted by forward and rearward support arms that form a “V”-shape. A forward drive belt is mounted for rotation along a path of travel perpendicular to the forward support arms. A first embodiment cradles a product container between the forward drive belt and a rearward primary support arm. A second embodiment includes the first embodiment structure and adds a rearward secondary support arm. A third embodiment includes the primary but not the rearward secondary support arm, the forward drive belt and a forward secondary support arm. A fourth embodiment includes the rearward primary and secondary support arms, the forward drive belt and a forward secondary support arm. The product container is tilted from vertical so that the conveyor follows a path of travel including curvatures having no guide rails.

Abstract:
There is provided an apparatus for transferring packaged goods from a first position X to a second position Y. An exemplary apparatus comprises at least one gripping device comprising several gripping elements of which at least two can be actuated separately from each other. The exemplary apparatus further comprises a drive that is adapted to move the at least one gripping device in a vertical direction and in at least one horizontal direction. The exemplary apparatus also comprises a controller that is configured according to a fixed scheme, the controller being adapted to sequentially cancel a gripping effect of the gripping elements. The exemplary apparatus additionally comprises a guide element adapted to steer the packaged goods to the second position Y, the guide element comprising a baffle plate placed in a slanted position and having a bottom plate and two side walls that run towards each other in the form of a funnel.
Abstract:
A gripper device for displacing at least one single unit of consumer packages comprising gripper blades movable in rotating and translating manner with control members accommodated in housing, gripper members engage units on two opposite longitudinal sides after closure for picking up, transfer and placement in outer packages. Clamping members for keeping the cover closed during pickup, transfer and discharge of closed units are placed between units to keep units in relative positions during pickup, transfer and placement, cooperating with gripper and clamping members. Holder members comprise intermediate plates suspended vertically through slots in housing bottom plate and are clamped between the units. Intermediate plates are pressed vertically by a spring member, wherein a suspended main portion and the intermediate plates merge into an engaging edge having an angle under 40.degrees between main portion and engaging edge, the engaging edge, ends at the bottom portion of such a unit.

Abstract:
An apparatus for unloading a cargo space, such as a maritime container, which contains stackable cargo units. The apparatus comprises a frame which is provided with an active conveyor track having a distal end and a proximal end, wherein the dimensions of at least a part of the frame with the conveyor track are such that it can be brought into the cargo space, the frame near the distal end is provided with a movable arm, wherein the movable arm is provided with a head for picking up at least one stackable cargo unit. According to the invention the head comprises an array with vertically directed suction cups, which array can be moved in the vertical direction for picking up at least one stackable cargo unit at its upper side.
Abstract:
A conveyor chain has a succession of longitudinally succeeding links, a respective entrainment lug projecting transversely outward from each link and formed with a latch seat and a plurality of identical entrainment elements. The entrainment elements each have a transversely outwardly projecting entrainment arm, a transversely inwardly open socket adapted to fit complementarily over a respective one of the lugs, a formation in the socket engageable in the seat of the respective one lug, and a longitudinally extending brace bearing transversely inward on at least one of the lugs adjacent the respective one lug.
Abstract:
The invention comprises a conveyor or sorting system capable of providing multiple divert steps that effectively sort or sequence objects into a desired order on a main conveyor surface. The divert steps or processes involve a divert area active at a divert point along the main conveyor axis. In particular, the invention employs an apparatus or steps in a sorting operation to minimize or reduce the percentage of objects or containers that fall from or jam on the main conveyor by using the bi-directional divert apparatus and divert guides. The apparatus and methods can more accurately sort collections of containers or objects into a desired sequence, for example, as used in mail or parcel delivery systems.
