摘要: A receiving well for use with a thermal dye sublimation printing apparatus is disclosed. The receiving well is used to receive cut sheets printed using the thermal dye sublimation printing. The receiving well includes two angled surfaces, referred to herein as ramps. The ramps are spaced apart from one another, and a waste area is positioned between the two ramps. The waste area captures the scrap or waste paper that can result from cutting the receiver media after printing. In some embodiments, both ramps slope down to the bottom surface of the receiving well. In other embodiments, one of the ramps is raised off the bottom surface of the receiving well at its lowest point. The waste area may also be offset such that it is closer to one side of the receiving well than the other.

摘要: An apparatus for preparing a collation of sheets for folding operations. The system includes a registration device including multiple registration stations and a conveyance device for transporting the collation to one of the registration stations. Each registration station is adapted to register the edges of the collation based upon a desired edge geometry. A processor determines the fold configuration of the collation and determines the edge geometry thereof based upon the fold configuration of the collation. The processor selects one of the registration stations based upon the fold configuration and then controls the conveyance device to transport the collation to the selected registration station. The registration station selected may also be based upon the thickness of the collation and a desired location for binding the collation.

摘要: A device for aligning flat objects includes a supporting device, two boundary elements, a drive for the backwards and forwards movement of the boundary elements and a motor. The supporting device has two flat aligning surfaces for aligning the objects, wherein the aligning surfaces lie in two planes that abut each other at a straight edge. Both aligning surfaces slope steeply towards the edge. The motor sets both aligning surfaces in vibration. Both boundary elements can be swiveled into an engaging position. In this engaging position, the at least two boundary elements hold the stack of the objects when the stack is located on the supporting surfaces and between the boundary elements. The drive is connected to the boundary elements in such a way that it moves the boundary elements backwards and forwards parallel to the edge when the boundary elements are in the engaging position.
