Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for permitting or preventing a panel from closing an opening within a wall. A hinge secures the panel to the wall for pivoting the panel relative to the opening. The apparatus comprises an inverted generally u-shaped frame defining a slot for positioning to the panel. A bar member includes a first end and a second end. A fulcrum pivot is interposed between the first end and the second end for pivotably mounting the bar member to the inverted generally u-shaped frame. The fulcrum pivot pivots the bar member between a generally vertical position and a generally horizontal position. The bar member pivots to the generally vertical position for disengaging the second end from the wall for permitting the panel to close the opening of the wall. The bar member pivots into the generally horizontal position for engaging the stopper end with the wall for preventing the panel from closing the opening of the wall.

Abstract: In an aspect, the invention is directed to a window regulator assembly that includes a carrier, a set of lifter plates, a drive motor and drive cables for operatively connecting the drive motor to the lifter plates. At least one rail may be integral with the carrier. The carrier has a carrier seal that is co-molded therewith. The carrier has a pulley assembly thereon that includes a pulley and a pulley bearing member that has a pulley bending load bearing surface that is conical and that mates with a carrier bending load bearing surface that is inner-conical. The lifter plate is capable of a relatively strong connection to a vehicle window. The lifter plate has a window pass-through member that passes through a locking aperture in the vehicle window. The window pass-through member has two ends and is supported at both ends against vertical withdrawal of the vehicle window. The lifter plate also has a reduced tendency to bind when in use. The lifter plate has lateral engagement surfaces that are for engagement with lateral guide surfaces and has cable mounts for receiving drive cables. The cable mounts are positioned laterally between the lateral engagement surfaces. Additionally, the vehicle window lifter plate has lateral engagement surfaces that are for engagement with lateral guide surfaces. The lateral engagement surfaces are biased against the lateral guide surfaces, thereby giving the lifter plate the capability to accommodate lateral forces with a reduced tendency to bind. A wiring harness clip for holding wiring harnesses to the carrier is provided. The wiring harness clip has two clip elements that together define a wiring harness retaining aperture in a longitudinal direction and an inlet thereto. The wiring harness inlet is canted to a non-zero angle relative to the longitudinal direction. The perpendicular spacing between the two clip elements is larger than the distance between them in the transverse direction.

Abstract: An up-stop mechanism for a vehicular window provides, in some embodiments of the present invention, a means of adjustment of a window position from inside the vehicle, rather than, for example, through its beltline. Embodiments of the present invention may also permit adjustment of the window without loss of the position of the up stop and, with it, the vertical limit of the controlled window pane. Fine adjustment of the window position is also enabled through the use of indirect control of the position of the up stop and gradations on an adjacent base plate, on which the up stop is adjustably mounted. Embodiments of the present invention may provide an adjustment interface on a portion of an up stop, while a complementary interface, designed to engage the adjustment interface of the up stop, may be provided on an adjusting component, most preferably one that is borne or mounted separately from the up stop. Actuation of the adjusting component displaces its engaging interface and, by doing so, indirectly displaces the engaging interface of the up stop and, thus, the up stop itself. The adjusting component may be acted upon by a preselected tool, such as a wrench, and may be mounted in order to be accessed from inside the vehicle.
