摘要: An image forming apparatus includes first and second toner image forming sections and a transfer unit. The first and second toner image forming sections include first and second image carriers and first and second intermediate transfer members, respectively. The color toner images are formed on the image carrier and then transferred onto the intermediate transfer member to form a composite color toner image on the intermediate transfer member. In a first mode, the first and second toner image forming sections form both the composite dark and light color toner images on the recording material. In a second mode, the second intermediate transfer member is moved out of contact with the transfer unit and the second image carrier and the second intermediate transfer member are not operated, so that only the first toner image forming section forms the composite dark color toner image on the recording material.

摘要: A tandem type direct printing apparatus 2 comprising a plurality of printing stations 16a, 16b, 16c and 16d for depositing printing particles 38 on a print medium 8 to form a layer of printing particles. The plurality of printing stations 16a, 16b, 16c and 16d are positioned in a moving direction of the print medium 8. The printing station positioned downstream with respect to the moving direction of the print medium forms a layer of printing particles on the layer of printing particles formed by the printing station positioned upstream. At least any one of the printing stations 16a, 16b, 16c and 16d is different in intention of the electric field from another by changing the voltage applied to the backing electrode 44 or the distance between the backing electrode 44 and the printing head 50 in accordance with a charge quantity of printing particles or the number of the layer of printing particles in the one of the printing stations.

摘要: This invention involves a process for producing in an electrographic system a product having an image depth perception. The process includes dispensing in a system a first dielectric layer and electrographically imaging this layer and developing the image. A second dielectric layer is subsequently dispersed in the system, imaged and developed. A preselected plurality of dielectric layers may be imaged and developed. These developed layers are superimposed and adhered together to form a multilayered substrate having a depth perception. The layers can be superimposed, adhered together and overcoated either before or after separation from the system.

摘要: A toning method for electrostatic printers and copiers where paper is wound on a supply roll and moved toward a takeup roll. After a latent image of a first color is written and the image area is wound toward a takeup roll, toner of a first color is applied while rewinding the image bearing web toward the supply roll. After the image area passes the writing head, the web is stopped and reversed so that a latent image corresponding to a second color may be written. Once the image region passes toning stations, the web is stopped and again reversed. During reverse direction travel of the image region, toner of a second color is applied and the image region is again wound on the supply roll. The process continues for toning all colors during the rewind operation. Although the image area may move at variable speeds during image writing, the image area is moved at constant speed in the reverse direction for toning. Motion at constant speed allows higher quality toners to be used, leading to improvement in color saturation and hue.

摘要: An improved color printing method and the apparatus for employing the method are provided for continuously superimposing a plurality of separate color toner images onto a common conductive intermediate transfer belt from a plurality of developing drums across a liquid filled gap to form a single full color image. The separate colors have masters mounted to the developing drums and the superimposed full color image is contact transferred with the aid of heat and pressure from the conductive intermediate transfer belt to the final receiving paper substrate after all of the liquid has been removed from the superimposed full color image.

摘要: An image formation method for forming an image includes the steps of electrostatically transferring a latent electrostatic image formed on a latent-electrostatic-image bearing member to an intermediate transfer medium composed of at least a support, and an electroconductive layer and a dielectric layer which are successively overlaid on the support, developing the latent electrostatic image which has been electrostatically transferred onto the intermediate transfer medium into a visible image by a wet-type development method, and non-electrostatically transferring the visible image on the intermediate transfer medium to a final recording medium with the application of heat and pressure thereto. An image formation apparatus for carrying out the above method is disclosed.

摘要: The system of this invention uses both a process and apparatus for printing an image on a removable thicker dielectric layer than conventionally used in other systems. The dielectric layer is at least 0.2 mils thick and is removed from the system after it is imaged, developed and fixed. Several alternate ways are used to imagewise charge the dielectric layer. The toner used preferably incorporates a resin of the said family resin as used in the dielectric layer or layers. The imaged layer may be attached to a base such as a tile or wallpaper support structure. The base support substantially strengthens the dielectric layer which is important for shipping, storage, ultimate use and durability.

摘要: A color image recording apparatus records a composite color image composed of a plurality of superimposed images of different colors on a recording medium. Each latent image represented by an image signal is formed in a first image recording medium on the recording medium, and then another latent image is formed in a second image recording medium, following the first image recording area, of the recording medium. Then, the latent image in the first recording medium is developed into a visible image by a developing unit with a developing solution containing toner particles of one color. When the recording medium is fed along, toner particles in any residual developing solution left in the developing unit are attracted to the latent image in the second image recording area of the recording medium.

摘要: A photographic copying apparatus for reproducing an original on photosensitive paper. A roll of photosensitive paper mounted in a magazine is fed downwardly and cut into sheets. Each sheet is sucked to a vertically arranged suction conveyor and fed down. At a predetermined position, the feed of the sheet stops. An exposure table which is turnable and movable between two points is turned and pressed against the sheet on the conveyor. The suction conveyor stops sucking the sheet while the exposure table starts sucking it, so that the sheet is handed over to the latter. The table now carrying the sheet moves toward the expsoure unit. On its way, it is turned and passed under a corona charger. As the table reaches and the exposure unit, it is turned again and the light reflected by an original is shed on the sheet for light exposure. The table is then turned to bring its sheet carrying side down and moved in an opposite direction toward the conveyor. The sheet is brought into contact with one of several kinds of developing solutions in tanks which are adapted to be raised into contact with the sheet one after another. Any excess solution applied to the sheet is removed by a squeezer. After this first development cycle, the table is turned by 180 degrees and moved toward the exposure unit again for another cycle of development. This cycle is repeated as many times as the number of colors used.
