Abstract:
An electrographic printer device for printing tape-shaped recording media (10) in duplex and simplex printing contains two transfer printing stations (15/1,15/2) that can be pivoted against and away from the photoconductive drum (11). The first transfer printing station (15/1) serves for transferring toner images allocated to the front side, the second transfer printing station (15/2) serves for transferring back side toner images. A mechanical buffer storage (29) and a turn-over means (28) with preceding intermediate fixing station in the form of a photoflash fixing station (31) are arranged between the transfer printing stations (15/1,15/2).
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit for forming an image on an image receiving medium which has first and second surfaces, a roller for conveying the image receiving medium on which the image was formed on the first surface to the image forming unit again, the roller contacts at least the first surface of the image receiving medium, and a driving mechanism for driving the roller. The apparatus further includes a detector for detecting the density of the image formed on the first surface of the image receiving medium. The driving condition of the roller by the driving mechanism is adjusted according to the image density detected by the detector.
Abstract:
An apparatus for forming an image onto a transfer sheet a plurality of times includes an image forming unit for forming an image onto a sheet which is conveyed; first and second conveying units for conveying the sheet from the image forming unit to the image forming unit, wherein the second conveying unit stops the first sheet conveyed by the first conveying unit at a predetermined position and, after the second sheet which is conveyed subsequently to the first sheet conveyed by the first conveying unit was conveyed to a predetermined position on the first sheet, the second conveying unit conveys the first and second sheets in a partially overlapped state and separates the first sheet and supplies the separated first sheet to the image forming unit; and a sheet detecting sensor for detecting the front edge of the sheet which is conveyed by the first conveying unit. After the first sheet was conveyed by the first conveying unit by a first predetermined amount after the front edge of the first sheet had been detected by the sensor, the second conveying unit conveys the first sheet conveyed by the first conveying unit and stops the first sheet at the predetermined position, and after the second sheet was conveyed by the first conveying unit by a second predetermined amount different from the first predetermined amount after the front edge of the second sheet had been detected by the sensor, the second conveying unit conveys the first and second sheets.
Abstract:
In a sheet conveying apparatus having a jam detecting means, there are provided an accommodating portion for jam treatment and a conveyance controlling means to accommodate sheets on a conveyance path into said portion, enabling all the sheets on the path to be gathered in one place and rendering the removal treatment easier. In another aspect of this invention, in case of jam occurrence, the sheets being conveyed are temporarily accommodated in the standby accommodating portion for discharge and then rejected outside the apparatus after jam return, while an image forming portion carrying out the image formation onto the sheets to be accommodated so that they can be discharged as regular output sheets, and image formation being prohibited when the sheets are discharged, resulting in that the image previously formed on the sheets is not to be disturbed.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a sheet curl control apparatus including a decurler (350) for reducing the curl in sheet material passing therethrough and adjusting means coupled to the decurler (350) for adjusting the decurling action of the decurler (350). Sensing means (406) in the form of an infra-red emitter (408) and two infra-red detectors (410 and 412) are employed for sensing the extent of any residual curl left in the sheet material after it has passed through the decurler (350), and for feeding a signal indicative of the residual curl to control means, conveniently including a stepper motor, for automatically adjusting the adjusting means, for example a rack and pinion arrangement, thereby to alter the decurling action of the decurler (350) in a predetermined manner. The sheet curl control apparatus is described in relation to its use in a copier for duplex copying.
Abstract:
A copier operable in a two-sided copy mode and a combination copy mode. The copier effects both of the two different copy modes without resorting to a plurality of intermediate trays and by allowing a minimum of local contamination due to a toner to occur on copy sheets.
Abstract:
A sheet transport member has at least one surface for movable engagement with a sheet to be transported made from an elastomeric thermoplastic styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene block copolymer and a polysiloxane substantially uniformly dispersed throughout the copolymer, the polysiloxane being present in an amount of from about 0.5% to 8% by weight of the total weight of the composition and having a viscosity of from about 20 to 1,000,000 centistokes.
Abstract:
An image forming system carries out a simplex recording operation for forming an image on one side of recording paper and discharge the paper onto a discharge tray, and a composite or duplex recording operation in which image-carrying recording paper is formed with a further image on the same image-carrying side or a reverse side prior to discharge. This system includes a paper refeeding device for temporarily storing the recording paper after the simplex recording and refeeding the recording paper to an image forming device for recording a second image thereon, and a mode selector for selecting between a page arranging mode and a non-page arranging mode. The recording paper is discharged directly onto the discharge tray when the non-page arranging mode is selected. On the other hand, when the page arranging mode is selected, the recording paper is transported through the paper refeeding device and recording section and out to the discharge tray.
Abstract:
A copier having superimposed copying and duplex copying capabilites and free from malfunctions ascribable to false jam detection which is caused by sensor errors. When a paper jam is detected due to the failure of a sensor, the copier determines whether or not a jamming paper sheet actually exists instead of immediately determining that a jam has occurred. If no jamming paper sheet exists, the copier does not perform any paper discharging movement by determining that the detection is caused by a sensor error and disables the superimposed copying and duplex copying functions.
Abstract:
This specification discloses a sheet conveying apparatus having piling means for piling sheets with a predetermined amount of deviation in the direction of conveyance provided therebetween, first conveying means for imparting a conveying force to only that surface of the lead-off one of the sheets piled with the predetermined amount of deviation provided therebetween which is not in contact with the other sheets, and movement restricting means disposed upstream of the first conveying means by a distance shorter than the predetermined length of the conveyed predetermined sheet minus the predetermined amount of deviation for restricting the movement of the other sheets than the lead-off sheet. The specification also discloses a sheet conveying method characterized by the step of piling sheets successively with a predetermined amount of deviation in the direction of conveyance provided therebetween, imparting a conveying force in the direction of conveyance to the lead-off of the piled sheets, and conveying the other sheets than the lead-off sheet in the direction opposite to the direction of conveyance.
