Abstract:
An image input device for converting input of a high resolution multivalue image data to transmit high-resolution binary image data and low-resolution multivalue image data without reducing transmission speed. Image data from a manuscript read in by a CCD is converted into digital multivalue image data by an A/D conversion portion, the multivalue image data thus obtained is binarized by binarization portion and stored in a first storage portion. The resolution of the multivalue image data is lowered by a resolution conversion portion, the gradation value is converted by a multivalue processing portion and the data is stored in a second storage portion. A first image data stored in the first storage portion and a second image data stored in the second storage portion are each output through an interface portion to a PC.
Abstract:
A facsimile device having a copy mode includes an image reader and a recording device and forms an image with the recording device based on a received signal from a communication network or a read signal from the image reader. In the copy mode, data processing of the read image is performed in accordance with the resolution and half tone expression characteristic of the image reader and the recording device. In a facsimile mode, data processing of the image is performed with a reproduction characteristic according to the half tone and text images.
Abstract:
A facsimile apparatus contains transfer modes such as a standard mode, a fine image quality mode, a super fine image quality mode which are different from one another in resolution. A signal representing each transfer mode is transmitted from the transmission side to the reception side before the transmission and reception of facsimile image data. A control unit detects the resolution of reception data according to the transfer mode signal to switch over methods for conversion into high-tone in a high-tone conversion unit or to set the magnification of conversion of a resolution conversion unit according to the detected resolution. In this case, when high resolution is detected, the unit for conversion into high-tone executes conversion into multi-value using an area of 17.times.17 picture elements around candidate picture elements for processing. When low resolution is detected, the unit executes the conversion into multi-value using an area of 11.times.11 picture elements around the candidate picture elements for processing.
Abstract:
An image data transmission apparatus reads image data from a document placed on a document tray via a line sensor or the like, and transmits the obtained image data to a receiving apparatus either after rotation of the image data or without rotation of the image data wherein whether rotation is performed or not is determined in accordance with the receiving capability of the receiving apparatus and also on the document setting position. If the rotation is required, the reading operation is performed in such a manner that the line density in the secondary scanning direction in the reading operation will become the line density in the principal direction after the rotation so that no degradation in the resolution and processing efficiency occurs.
Abstract:
A printing apparatus capable of printing in an appropriate print mode, for a short print period, with maintaining excellent image quality, and a facsimile apparatus or image processing apparatus using the printing apparatus. The type of the image data is examined, in accordance with the source of input image data, and main controller 1 instructs print controller 8 to perform printing in multipath print mode or in normal print mode, in accordance with the image type. The print controller 8 controls printhead 9 in accordance with the instruction. For example, a high-precision image or halftone image is printed in the multipath print mode, while a low-density image or binary image is printed in the normal print mode.
Abstract:
A facsimile machine having a memory reception mode in which image data received from a transmitting facsimile machine during an automatic reception is temporarily stored in a memory, and is provided with a detecting part for detecting a remaining memory region which is usable within the memory. The invention includes a line density switching part for instructing switching of the line density if the remaining memory region detected by the detecting part is less than or equal to a predetermined region, and a control part for making a capability notification to the transmitting facsimile machine in a pre-procedure during the automatic reception. The control part automatically transmits the capability notification again to the transmitting facsimile machine in response to the instruction from the line density switching part so as to receive the image data from the transmitting facsimile machine with a line density which is lower than an initial line density at the time when the automatic reception is started.
Abstract:
A data transmission system avoids charging of line utilization fees when it is attempted to send data to a destination incapable of receiving the data and can be readily operated even by an operator having little technical knowledge. By storing function information relating to the terminals of a plurality of parties, the system automatically determines prior to transmission whether data is capable of being transmitted to a destination. On the basis of the function information and the data to be transmitted, a list of parties which are and are not capable of receiving a transmission is displayed on a CRT, thereby enabling the operator to visually identify in advance which parties can and cannot be sent data. The system makes it possible to identify at least the form of data to be transmitted and to display the list of parties which are and are not capable of receiving a transmission.
Abstract:
Facsimile apparatus for line by line recording of different kinds of weather map, satellite and other graphic data distinguishes the different characteristics of the transmitted electrical data signals and records them in suitable aspect ratio, despite the fact that the various signals are transmitted at different line rates and are intended for recording at different line densities. The apparatus also enhances the contrast of the recording and can enlarge the original graphic information.
