    摘要: A centrifuge is provided with a mounting arrangement that secures a centrifuge bowl to a turntable in response to centrifugal force generated when the turntable is rotated. The centrifuge includes first and second retainers, one of which is connected to the turntable, while the other is connected to the centrifuge bowl. The second retainer engages the first retainer when the first and second retainers are in an interlocking position to secure the centrifuge bowl to the turntable. A movable arm is provided on the turntable and coupled to the second retainer, the movable arm has a ballast that forces the movable arm and second retainer in a first direction in response to centrifugal force generated by rotating the turntable so that the second retainer is forced into the interlocking position with the first retainer. In one embodiment, a vacuum applied to an opening in the turntable assists in mounting a centrifuge bowl to the turntable.

    摘要: Clamp jaws are arranged symmetrically about a rotation axis in a chuck body and guided in a direction inclined to the rotation axis. A tightening ring is mounted rotatable and axially nonslidable on the chuck body and is provided with a tightening thread for moving the clamp jaws which is engaged with a row of teeth on each of the clamp jaws. An opening for connection of a drill spindle is located in the tightening ring. As seen in a direction running from the drill spindle to the clamp jaws, the tightening thread has a direction of rotation, by which the clamp jaws are moved toward the drill tool or tighten on the drill tool in clockwise rotation of the tightening ring on the chuck body. Thus the drill chuck has aftertightening and selftightening properties.

    摘要: Centrifugal chucking apparatus for fixing a member to be rotated to a rotatable driving member includes a cylindrical cage member adapted to be mounted for rotation with the driving member, at least one clamping body movably mounted within an aperture formed in the cage member and which moves into engagement with the member to be rotated during rotation of the driving member under the action of centrifugal force, and at least one lever member associated with the clamping body and mounted for rotation with the driving and cage members. The lever member mutually engages both the clamping body and the cage member and during rotation of the driving member the lever member is urged outwardly under the action of centrifugal force. The lever member is appropriately positioned so that as a result of this outward urging under centrifugal force, the lever member exerts a force against the clamping body which has a direction to increase the force with which the clamping body engages the member to be rotated. Further, the clamping body is positively braced in engagement with the member to be rotated by the lever member which forms a rigid link interconnecting the cage member and clamping body. This additional bracing prevents any reduction in the clamping force exerted by the clamping body on the member to be rotated which might otherwise result from vibrations or other disturbances which occur during a particular application of the apparatus, e.g., where the member to be rotated is a workpiece which is being treated.

    摘要: The system includes a spindle for holding a high speed drill, the spindle being provided with longitudinal slots permitting its exterior side walls to be biased inwardly and grip the drill. Eccentric weights surround the spindle in such a manner that upon rotation of the spindle at a high speed, the weights are thrown radially outwardly to contract the side walls of the spindle by centrifugal force, thereby gripping the drill shank, the gripping force increasing with the speed of rotation of the spindle. For larger drills, a special collar is provided on the drill shank for engaging flats provided on the spindle to result in a positive locking of the drill shank for rotation with the spindle.

    摘要: A sleeve for the tool receiving bore of a chuck is formed with a number of longitudinal slits, a stop collar at one end and a peripheral retaining bead at the other end. The sleeve is interposed between the conventional gripping members of the chuck collet and the inserted tool shank. Forces exerted by the gripping members are transmitted to the tool shank through the sleeve. When used in a chuck having several centrifugally urged holding members the sleeve keeps the holding members from flying out of the chuck body when the chuck is rotated without a tool inserted therein and maintains apertures of the holding member in alignment to facilitate insertion of a tool. The sleeve is made in different wall thicknesses to enable use of tool shanks of different diameters in the same chuck collet.
