    摘要: An ergonomic seam ripper includes: (a) an elongated haft with a bulged profile having a larger cross-section about its medial portion than cross-section at a palm end of the haft, the cross-section about the medial portion of the haft also being larger than a cross-section at a thumb grip end of the haft, wherein the palm end of the haft has an outer surface of generally planar structure and the haft is further characterized by a mounting portion at the thumb grip end of the haft; (b) a gripping member secured to the mounting portion of the haft made of a resilient rubbery material with a plurality of gripping ribs extending thereabout, wherein the gripping ribs are spread relatively close together at an upper portion thereof and relatively further apart at a lower portion thereof; and (c) a U-shaped cutting blade with a tapered projection and balled projection, as well as a shaft, wherein the shaft of the blade is secured to the haft such that the tapered projection is aligned with the upper portion of the gripping member and the balled projection is aligned with the lower portion of the gripping member.

    摘要: A portable and reusable liquid spray apparatus, the spray apparatus configured to spray a liquid onto any surface. The apparatus has a spray housing which has a liquid chamber within. The liquid chamber having an opening into which a liquid may be poured and retained within the chamber. A propellant housing configured to engage the spray housing and form a first seal with the spray housing which precludes spillage of the liquid. The propellant housing holds a propellant having a pressure above atmospheric pressure. The propellant housing forms a second seal with the spray housing which precludes leakage of the propellant into the atmosphere. The spray housing also has a passage to supply the propellant into the liquid chamber. The spray housing includes a spray valve and a spray nozzle. The spray valve is configured for releasing the liquid from the apparatus thru the spray nozzle when the valve is actuated. Liquid to be sprayed is poured into the liquid chamber and the propellant housing is engaged with the spray housing. When the spray valve is actuated, the propellant forces the liquid thru the spray nozzle and out of the apparatus.

    摘要: A composite-material pressure vessel (1) has a wall (4) with a reinforcing layer (11) containing one or more reinforcing fibers, wherein the reinforcing layer is an electrical conductor, wherein the wall (4) forms an electrical capacitor (13) having a first plate formed of the reinforcing layer (11), a second plate formed of an electrically conductive layer (15) overlapping the dielectric layer (11), a dielectric layer (14) interposed between the reinforcing layer (11) and the electrically conductive layer (15), as well as electrical terminals (19, 20) connected to the first and the second plates. The vessel control method and system perform electrical tests on the capacitor to derive information about the wall (4) structural condition.

    摘要: A food service unit for use with a cooking unit includes a food shield including an upper wall, a customer-side wall, and two lateral sidewalls, a ventilation volume defined at least in part by the food shield, a recirculating ventilation system including a filter, a fan downstream of the filter, and an exhaust vent, wherein the fan is configured to draw air from the ventilation volume through the filter and exhaust the air through the exhaust vent, a pressure sensor configured to detect a differential pressure between atmosphere and a location between the filter and the fan, a control system configured to prevent a cooking unit from operating when the detected differential pressure is outside a specified range of pressures, a fire suppression system including a nozzle and a source of fire extinguishing agent and a fire detection sensor configured to detect a fire and activate the fire suppression system.
