摘要: Objects are sorted according to a predetermined sorting feature. A first storage area and a second storage area each have a plurality of storage devices. A storage device of the first storage area has a storage device output and an emptying transport path, which leads to a storage device of the second storage area. The value that the sorting feature takes on for each object to be sorted is measured for that object. A storage device is selected on the basis of the sorting feature value. In an emptying-optimized mode, only storage devices of the first storage area are selected, and in a sorting destination-optimized mode, storage devices of the second storage area are also selected. A storage device with a store output is emptied in an emptying-optimized mode by transporting objects in this storage device to a storage device of the second storage area via the emptying transport path.

摘要: A method of sorting mailpieces, in which the mailpieces are sorted automatically in a sorting system with a view to being delivered to a recipient by a mail carrier, and are fed back into a sorting machine for additional sorting in order to re-sequence the mailpieces in a certain classification established by the recipient. This method is characterized by the following steps: the sorting system transmitting to the recipient digital images corresponding to respective ones of the mailpieces to be delivered to said recipient, these digital images being associated in the transmission with the unique mailpiece identifiers (Id tags) generated by the sorting system, with a view to said unique mailpiece identifiers being reorganized relative to one another by the recipient into an order that defines said classification; and controlling the sorting machine so that it performs the additional sorting of said mailpieces on the basis of said unique mailpiece identifiers as reorganized into said classification established by the recipient.

摘要: A method and system for mail run balancing of critical documents on a sorter machine that comingles both critical and non-critical documents. A plan identifying a set of critical documents to be processed as part of a mail run is received at the sorter. The plan includes an individual identifier code for each critical document. Sets of critical and non-critical documents are sorted as part of the comingled mail run. A camera scans the documents for the individual identifier codes on the critical documents during sorting. The camera captures an image of the scanned critical documents. A list of scanned individual identifier codes of sorted critical documents is stored for later use, along with the captured images of the documents. The list of scanned individual identifier codes is compared to the identifier codes of the critical documents in the plan. Based on the comparison, a first comparison list of scanned identifiers that do not match any identifiers in the plan and a second comparison list of identifiers in the plan that are not matched to pieces scanned are generated. The first comparison list is reconciled with the second comparison list by, at least in part, displaying the captured images to assist in matching corresponding documents from the lists.

摘要: Mail processing systems, methods, and computer-readable media. A method includes assigning first and second delivery points to a single output at the same time. The method includes sorting a first mail piece sorted to the first delivery point and a second mail piece sorted to the second delivery point. The method includes placing both first and second output containers, associated with the first and second delivery points, into a position proximate to the output. The method includes moving the first output container into a position to receive the mail pieces sorted to the first delivery point from the output and to moving the second output container into a position to receive the mail pieces sorted to the second delivery point from the output.

摘要: An enhanced postal data modeling framework, in which postal data which describes characteristics of a mail sortation process is accessed, and the postal data is mapped to production management data which describes characteristics of a model production management process in an initial state and which is capable of being processed by a production management application. The production management data is input for processing by the production management application to produce forecasted production management data which predicts characteristics of the model production management process in a subsequent state, the forecasted production management data is modeled to forecasted postal data which predicts characteristics of the mail sortation process, and at least a portion of the forecasted postal data is provided to a user.

摘要: A device and to a method for stacking plate-like products into a straight, cylindrical stack having an upper and a lower side and at least two side surfaces arranged at a distance from each other. In order to create a desired pretension in the stack already during stacking, which can even be maintained when individual products are added, the plate-like products are lifted against gravity from the bottom to the top into a stack nest, the products are held in the stack nest by applying a force on the side surfaces thereof to prevent dropping in the direction of gravity. While the force application is maintained, further products are added to the stack in the stack nest from the bottom side.

摘要: Mail processing system, methods, and computer-readable media. A method includes detecting and reading a tray label of a tray being placed on or in the mail processing machine to determine a tray identifier. The tray is a mail item container containing a plurality of mail items to be processed by the mail processing machine in a current mail processing function. The method includes validating the tray identifier for the current mail processing function. The method includes, when the tray identifier is valid for the current mail processing function, activating a valid-tray indicator, and otherwise when the tray identifier is invalid for the current mail processing function, activating an invalid-tray indicator.

摘要: A method for modeling conveyance or flows of material or other functional behaviors, particularly in the form of components that generate material actions; a method for modeling a system having components, particularly a postal item distribution system, and; the generation of a discrete component-oriented simulation model based on the modelings, particularly as a basis for components and/or system implementation. Modeling of each component is carried out on the basis of a flexible component model that takes the input behavior and the functional behavior of a component into account, and that two components at a time transfer discrete events or discrete material units to one another by using a general communications model, particularly by using communication types.
