    摘要: A rotary slide valve closure for metal melt containers having a bottom discharge wherein the rotary slide valve closure has a fixed refractory top block and a rotary refractory discharge block sealingly tight engaging the fixed refractory top block and including a discharge flow duct positionable coaxial with the flow duct of the fixed refractory top block. An assembly plate is attached to the bottom of a metal melt container. Joint means pivotally supports a slide valve casing on the assembly plate. The rotary slide valve closure also includes an annular entraining casing pivotally arranged in the slide valve casing for supporting the rotary refractory discharge block. The rotary discharge block has a substantially flat sealing and a sliding surface engaging the fixed refractory top block and a spherical portion extending below the sealing and sliding surface. The entraining casing has a spherical inner surface engaging the spherical portion of the rotary refractory discharge block.

    摘要: Provided for the tap hole in the bottom of a metallurgical vessel is a closure apparatus comprising a shut-off member which can close off the tap hole from below, and a pipe which is displaceable from above through the molten bath into a lowered blocking position in which it bears against the upper edge of the tap hole. An axially displaceable lance may be disposed in the pipe so that the pipe can be used for burning open the tap hole, by means of oxygen. Filling material which is capable of flow can also be introduced into the tap hole, through the pipe. The closure apparatus makes it possible to carry out a sump mode of operation, without tilting the vessel.

    摘要: A slide unit for use in a sliding closure unit includes two partial movable refractory plates having respective planar surfaces. Each partial plate is surrounded circumferentially by a respective metal band. The two plates are assembled together in a frame to abut along a butt joint so that the two partial plates can be moved together with the planar surfaces thereof contacting a stationary refractory plate of a sliding closure unit. The metal bands at the area of the butt joint between the two partial plates is spanned by a refractory shoulder extending integrally from at least one of the partial plates. Such shoulder thereby extends the planar surfaces of the two plates to the butt joint so that the two planar surfaces form a continuous sealing surface.

    摘要: A sliding closure unit includes a stationary refractory plate to be mounted on a metallurgical vessel, a movable refractory plate, a slide frame supporting the movable refractory plate and movable in a direction of movement between an open position with discharge openings in the movable and stationary refractory plates in alignment and a closed position with the discharge openings out of alignment, and tensioning devices on opposite sides of the movable refractory plates for pressing the movable refractory plate against the stationary refractory plate. The force of the tensioning structures is distributed evenly along the opposite sides of the movable refractory plate by strip members mounted in the slide frame for movement relative in the direction of the thickness thereof. A respective strip member is positioned on each opposite side of the movable refractory plate and is positioned between the tensioning structure on such side and the bottom surface of the movable refractory plate on such side.

The valve body is movable upwards, to open the valve, by raising the valve head through the mechanism of the support member and the downward flow from the valve seat is divided by the struts in the flow passage into a plurality of streams passing the support member.
