    摘要: Various non-limiting embodiments disclosed herein relate to nozzle assemblies for conveying molten material, the nozzle assemblies comprising a body, which may be formed from a material having a melting temperature greater than the melting temperature of the molten material to be conveyed, and having a molten material passageway extending therethrough. The molten material passageway comprises an interior surface and a protective layer is adjacent at least a portion of the interior surface of the passageway. The protective layer may comprise a material that is essentially non-reactive with the molten material to be conveyed. Further, the nozzle assemblies according to various non-limiting embodiments disclosed herein may be heated, and may be self-inspecting. Methods and apparatus for conveying molten materials and/or atomizing molten materials using the nozzle assemblies disclosed herein are also provided.

    摘要: A vibratory system and method for use in transferring molten metal. The vibratory system includes a vibrator which generates vibrational energy used to dislodge particulate positioned in a ladle for storing molten metal in an industrial molten metal transfer and manufacturing process. In one example, the vibratory system includes a transfer device for guiding the molten metal from the ladle and the vibrator is connected to the transfer device. In an example of a method for dislodging the particulate from the ladle, particulate is added to the ladle and vibrational energy is applied or transferred to the ladle to dislodge the particulate from the ladle allowing a flow of the molten metal to exit the ladle unobstructed by the particulate.

    摘要: A device for stirring molten metal in a continuous casting operation in which the molten metal flows in a controlled manner from a reservior, via a spout, to an ingot mold is presented. The stirring device comprises an electro-magnetic inductor which is displaceable transversely in relation to the metal casting line with its magnetic core consisting of a unitary part with several arms arranged around the casting line at a distance from the latter and directed radially inwardly towards the casting line. In accordance with a first embodiment of the present invention, the core has three arms which are each provided with an electromagnetic winding and which form, between them, angles of 120.degree.. The inductor is preferably arranged around the spout, but similar inductors may be arranged around the casting line in the secondary cooling zone.

    摘要: For a slide closure 10 attached to a pouring vessel 2 which has a movable slide part 14 disposed between a bottom plate 12 and a discharge part 16, there is, in addition to a cylinder piston unit 24 acting on the slide part, which unit is dominant by way of a servocontrol block 26 by regulating arrangement 32, a vibrator 36 which is controlled by an oscillator 34. The vibrator 36 is switched into the connection between the cylinder-piston unit 24 and the movable slide part 14, and is in a position to oscillatingly drive the latter both in its closing position as well as in other positions and, indeed, in the same direction as the cylinder piston unit. A position generator 44 starts the oscillator 34 forcibly in the closed position.

    摘要: A method of and apparatus for handling liquid steel in a tundish preparatory to teeming the steel into a continuous casting mold. Initially the tundish outlet is closed with a slidable gate which has a porous plug aligned with the outlet. Inert gas is injected into the steel through this plug to agitate the steel in the region of the tundish outlet. Inert gas injection is terminated shortly before the commencement of teeming, and oxygen rich gas is injected to react exothermically with the steel in the nozzle well area. Thereafter the porous plug slidable gate is replaced with a conventional gate having a teeming opening.

An aluminum-based alloy melt is introduced into an opening of a casting ladle, an ultrasonic transducer immersed in the aluminum-based alloy melt is activated, and the aluminum-based alloy melt is transferred onto a casting surface.
