摘要: A vehicle, system and a method of operating the vehicle is disclosed. The system includes a first sensor, a second sensor and a processor. The first sensor captures an image of a traffic control device. The second sensor identifies a lane within a road that is occupied by the vehicle. The processor is configured to determine an attribute of the lane occupied by the vehicle, associate a semantic meaning to a motion control signal of the traffic control device, determine a maneuver for the vehicle based on the semantic meaning of the motion control signal and the attribute of the lane occupied by the vehicle, and perform the maneuver at the vehicle.

摘要: Aspects of the disclosure provide for enabling autonomous vehicles to pull over into driveways when picking up or dropping off passengers or goods. For instance, a request for a trip identifying a first location and a second location may be received. The first location may be a location of a client computing device, and the second location may be a starting location or a destination for the trip. A user preference for the trip indicating that a pickup for the trip be in a driveway may be identified. That the first location corresponds with the second location may be identified. Based on the determination that the first location corresponds with the second location, dispatch instructions may be to an autonomous vehicle. The dispatch instructions may identify a polygon for a driveway at the second location in order to cause the autonomous vehicle to pull over into the driveway.

In one example, a computing system can detect a stop associated with a vehicle and initiate a steering action of the vehicle during the stop. The steering action is associated with movement of at least one tire of the vehicle relative to a driving surface. The computing system can obtain operational data associated with the steering action during the stop of the vehicle. The computing system can determine a friction associated with the driving surface based at least in part on the operational data associated with the steering action. The computing system can generate data indicative of the friction associated with the driving surface.

The method may include determining a data processing speed associated with at least one autonomous vehicle. The method may further include, automatically identifying at least one edge computing resource necessary for reaching the synchronized threshold level of data processing speed associated with the connected network of autonomous vehicles. The method may further include dynamically allocating the at least one edge computing resource from an edge computing device to the at least one autonomous vehicle based on a location of the at least one autonomous vehicle to the edge computing device.
