摘要： For draft- and trouble-free coiling of a sliver arriving from a deflection roll into a sliver can, there is provided a coiler roll which, in cooperation with a nip or pinch roll, guides the sliver through an infeed funnel and deposits the sliver directly upon sliver coils already located in the sliver can. For this purpose, the circumference of the coiler roll projects by a predetermined amount deeper into the sliver can than the underside or lower surface of a coiler plate.

摘要： A bin transport system for a fiber baling apparatus utilizes a plurality of portable upwardly opening bins which have openable bottoms. The bins are transported from a plurality of fiber filling stations to a single compression staton by a four-part transport means utilizing a dual carriage cross shuttle which moves the portable bins to and from positions adjacent the filling stations and the compression station. A pair of dedicated bin transporters are utilized to transport the bins such that one transporter delivers full bins from the filling stations to a position adjacent the compression station while the other transporter delivers empty bins from the compression station to a position adjacent each filling station.

摘要： A sliver coiler includes a coiler head supported for rotation about a generally vertical axis; a sliver depositing arrangement carried by the coiler head eccentrically relative to the axis and arranged for receiving sliver from above and discharging sliver downwardly during rotation of the coiler head; a pair of cooperating pressure rollers supported for rotation stationarily upstream of the sliver depositing arrangement as viewed in a running direction of the sliver passing between the pressure rollers; and a drive including a rotatably supported power-driven shaft and first and second drive elements for the coiler head and the pressure rollers, respectively. The first and second drive elements are operatively connected with the power-driven shaft. The first drive element is mounted on the power-driven shaft, and a transmission element connects the first drive element with the coiler head.

摘要： A rope (21) is packed into a container (31) in such a manner as to permit easy extraction therefrom in that the rope by means of a winding head (25) is coiled with the coil center situated between the center line and periphery of the container (31). For this purpose a rope supply reel (20) is mounted on a supporting device (15) which is rotatable about a fixed vertical shaft (30). The rope (21) is pulled from the reel (20) down into the container (31) by means of the winding head (25) which is connected to the supporting device (15) for rotation with it. The winding head (25) is arranged in the space between the center line and periphery of the container, and means (30, 34-42) are provided to rotate the container (31) about its axis and at the same time axially displace the container so that layer after layer of line coils are placed upon each other.

摘要： An inverting tow plaiter adapted to position tow onto a receiving end of a main conveyor in a series of overlying laps oriented to permit trouble-free removal of tow from the main conveyor discharge end. The plaiter comprises a continuous, moving canvas belt positioned above the main conveyor constrained to follow the downwardly extending semi-circular path, and a stationary housing spaced from the belt to define with the belt a curved chute of narrowing cross-section. The chute has a gap width at the chute upper end which is greater than at the chute lower end. Structure for depositing tow onto the canvas belt at the chute upper end in a series of overlying laps which extend transversely across the belt is provided.
