    摘要: A portable electric motor driven air gun powered by a power source. The motor is coupled to a lead screw, which drives a piston. The piston compresses air in a chamber producing high-pressure air. When sufficient energy is stored within the air stream by the piston a valve opens which releases the air to act on the projectile. The compressed air is used to push a projectile such as a paintball, an airsoft ball, a “bb”, or a pellet through a barrel. The lead screw is then reversed and the piston is reset for the next shot. The piston is preferably coupled to a feeding mechanism to facilitate positioning of the projectile for firing. The direction speed and operative modes of the gun are preferably controlled with an electric circuit. The power source is preferably rechargeable and allows the air gun to be operated completely independent from either a wall outlet or a compressed air supply.

    摘要: The invention relates to a propellant charge comprising a compact propellant and a method for electrically initiating and controlling the burning of such a propellant charge. Electrothermal energy is supplied to the propellant charge by feeding electric current over electrically conductive surfaces (6, 7, 19) in the propellant, and that said supply is made to different parts or zones (15) of the propellant charge at different points of time during the burning. The invention specifically relates to a projectile propellant charge having a first end (9) facing the projectile (4) and a second end (10) facing the back (3) of the weapon. The electrothermal energy is then supplied to the propellant charge, beginning in the first end thereof and then successively to the second end thereof by feeding the current at each point of time over an axially restricted part (15) of the propellant charge.

    摘要: An elongated support plank structure longitudinally extends transversely through the cabin area of a helicopter and has outer end portions projecting outwardly beyond opposite sides of the helicopter. A pair of 30 mm machine guns are mounted on the plank end portions and are supplied with belted ammunition from magazine boxes mounted on the plank within the cabin area via flexible feed chutes interconnected between the magazine boxes and interiorly rollered feed adapters interconnected between the outer ends of the feed chutes and the inlets of the machine gun feeder mechanisms. The 30 mm machine guns are secured to the outer plank end portions by specially designed mounting structures each having a cradle portion with axis-adjustable roller assemblies that engage the gun and essentially preclude lateral movement thereof relative to the cradle, but permit roller-guided longitudinal gun recoil movement, during firing of the gun. During firing of the gun, the gun moves longitudinally relative to fixed position recoil pin portions of the mounting structure and resiliently transfers its longitudinal recoil and counter recoil forces to such pin portions. Each cradle is gimbal-supported within a mounting structure securable to one of the plank ends, and a bore sight adjustment subassembly is interconnected between the mounting structure and the cradle and is used to pivotally adjust the cradle relative to the mounting structure about two mutually perpendicular axes to thereby adjust the elevation and azimuth bore sight settings of the gun.

    摘要: A firing circuit that is used for a lightweight launcher for propelling rets is disclosed. The firing circuit generates a pulse for firing the rocket launcher and comprises first and second capacitor banks. The first capacitor bank acts as low impedance energy source, in which power is developed to supply sufficient energy to initiate the rocket motor squib which, in turn, ignites the rocket motor of the rocket. The second capacitor bank acts as a high voltage, low impedance source whose energy is used to charge a capacitor internal to the rocket. The capacitor internal to the rocket, is part of the rocket warhead fuse. The capacitor internal to the fuse is used to initiate the detonator of the rocket warhead when the rocket terminates flight at target.

    摘要: A laser range finder that is modular so that it can mounted on different weapon platforms. A pulsed infrared laser beam is reflected off the target. The timed return signal is then used to measure the distance. Another laser, either a visible laser or another infrared laser of differing frequency, is used to place a spot on the intended target. Notch pass optical filters serve to eliminate ambient light interference from the second laser. The range finder using projectile information stored in the unit processes the calculated distance to raise or lower the finder on the weapon. A plurality of weapon platforms and projectile is selected by pressing the desired rubberized keypad. The range finder can be used with a laser detonated projectile that can be detonated when the projectile is over the target. The projectile is fitted with a detector that is sensitive to the frequency of a wide angle laser beam that is attached to the weapon. Using the range obtained by the range finder, the wide angle laser beam is fired when the projectile is in proper position relative to the target.

    摘要: A laser sight that can be concealed within a standard autoloading handgun. The invention features a chassis that is mounted to the front face of the slide of the handgun. The chassis has the same cross-sectional profile of the handgun and extends the slide by only about three quarters of an inch. Therefore, the handgun can be carried in standard holsters. The standard spring recoil guide is replaced by a novel battery pack designed to be used with commercially available batteries providing about 12 hours of operating time. The device is activated by a three different membrane switches, one on the chassis itself to select between an infrared laser, a "red" laser, and an incandescent light; a second membrane switch on the trigger which activates the sight when a slight pressure is applied; a third membrane switch located on the side of the frame so that the sight can be activated without placing a finger on the trigger. A delay feature is featured with the third switch so the user can move his finger from the frame switch to the trigger switch without the sight being turned off.

    摘要: A simulated firearm useful in the entertainment industry, and particularly moviemaking, includes electronically ignitable loads which fire sequentially producing a flash and smoke from the barrel. The loads are mounted in a socket in a forward part of the gun, and consist of a small amount of gunpowder and flash-producing material retained in a tubular sleeve along with a resistance-wire igniter. The electronic firing mechanism is actuated by a trigger microswitch which sends amplified pulses in sequence to the loads. Simulated bullet impacts can be actuated simultaneously by pulses generated by the firearm circuitry or from a remote source which actuates both the firearm and the bullet impacts.
