    摘要: A voltage-controlled tunable comb-ring type filter which includes a plurality of resonators and wherein the plurality of resonators include a first of at least two combline type resonators, a first of at least one ring type resonator coupled to the first of at least two combline type resonator, a second of the at least two combline type resonator coupled to the first of at least one ring type resonator and cross coupled to the first of at least two combline type resonators, and at least one of the plurality of resonators includes at least one variable capacitor. An input transmission line is connected with at least one of the plurality of resonators and an output transmission line is connected with at least one of the resonators. The cross coupling mechanism between the second of the at least two combline type resonators with the first of at least two combline type resonators can be through a transmission line shorted on all ends of the at least two combline type resonators or by placing the first of at least one ring type resonator in a different layer or by keeping all of the at least two combline type resonators relatively straight and placing the first of at least one ring type resonator such that cross coupling occurs between the plurality of resonators by virtue of the proximity of all of the plurality of resonators.

    摘要: An open loop resonator filter employed aperture on the ground plane is disclosed. The open loop resonator filter using apertures on the ground plane formed on the dielectric substrate, the open loop resonator filter including: one or more open loop resonators formed on a upper side of the dielectric substrate and implemented by microstrip lines; and one or more apertures formed on a predetermined area of the ground plane. The present invention can control the coupling coefficient of the open loop resonator without degrading the group delay characteristics by forming the aperture on the ground plane. Therefore, by forming the aperture on the ground plane, it is possible to design a filter having a wide bandwidth characteristic.

Accordingly, propagation of an undesired wave of the band whose center is the resonance frequency of the resonator can be prevented.

By tuning the resonant frequency of the resonators, the filter's characteristics also are tuned. Furthermore, MEMS switches are used to alter the input coupling, including direct input coupling and capacitive input coupling. Direct input coupling is altered by using the MEMS switches to select different input connection points. Capacitive input coupling is altered by using MEMS switches to add additional input capacitance to an input coupling capacitor.

    摘要: A millimeter wave module includes a silicon substrate with first and second cavityes formed by anisotropic etching on the silicon substrate, and a glass substrate having a microstrip filter pattern and microbumps for connecting the glass substrate to the silicon substrate. A filter is provided using an air layer as a dielectric disposed in the first cavity. An MMIC is mounted by the flip chip method over the second air layer. A coplanar waveguide is on the silicon substrate for connecting the filter and MMIC. The filter having low loss is achieved because it has the microstrip structure using air as an insulating layer. Also change in characteristics of the MMIC during mounting is eliminated because the MMIC is protected by contacting air. Accordingly, the millimeter wave module has excellent characteristics and is made using a simple method.
