Abstract: A method and system for communication between devices includes connecting a plurality of communication devices through a communication system. At least one communication device acts as a source entity sending a plurality of data packets to an access point. A plurality of communication devices act as destination entities receiving the data packets. The data packets are distributed, by the access point, to the destination entities in such a way that the data packets are queued for receipt by each destination entity in a separate non-interdependent queue.

Abstract: The present disclosure generally discloses a multicast capability configured to support multicast that is based on use of Bit Indexed Explicit Replication (BIER). The multicast capability may be configured to support deployment of BIER into a network in a manner that continues to support use of Protocol Independent Multicast (PIM) for multicast control within the network. The multicast capability may be configured to support deployment of BIER, into a network including an Interior Gateway Protocol (IGP) area, using a BIER domain that is commensurate with the IGP area or that is only a portion of the IGP area. The multicast capability may be configured to support deployment of BIER into a network in a manner supporting stitching of traditional PIM access networks via a BIER core network.

Abstract: Methods for directly mapping attributes from controllers connected to a switch are provided. Multicast protocols are combined with policy management and applied to systems with multiple host and source devices. Unnecessary data packets are dropped, while only necessary data packets are forwarded. Abstract: In one embodiment, a method comprises: generating, by a constrained low power and lossy network (LLN) device that is localized within a subregion of an LLN, a thin destination oriented directed acyclic graph (DODAG) having up to a prescribed limit of attached LLN devices at each hop of the thin DODAG based on generating a DODAG information object (DIO) message specifying an instruction for limiting attachment at each hop of the thin DODAG to the prescribed limit; and causing, by the constrained LLN device, multicast-only transmissions via the thin DODAG based on inserting into the DIO message a multicast-only transmission mode via the thin DODAG and outputting the DIO message, the DIO message causing each neighboring LLN device to selectively attach to the constrained LLN device as an attached child LLN device based on the instruction and execute the multicast-only transmissions via the thin DODAG.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and systems are provided for improving utilization of a communications system through various atom-based techniques for enhancing the viewing experience for Internet protocol content. Some embodiments exploit atom-based processing to determine which content atoms to broadcast (e.g., multicast) over which channels to which subscribers. Other embodiments make atom-based filtering, caching, and/or other determinations at the user terminal. For example, low-level (e.g., physical layer) filtering may be used to limit the amount of user-layer processing needed, and to facilitate delivery of content to those users most likely to desire that content. Still other embodiments allow users to create customized channels of cached content for viewing as a shared channel. Embodiments include techniques for addressing synchronization of channel content and viewing, and social networking, for subscribers to the shared channel. The shared channels may be further used to facilitate social networking among subscribers.

Abstract: A system and method of wireless communication includes a host application running on a server. A plurality of communication devices are in communication with the host application and configured to send and receive data packets between others of the communication devices via the host application. The data packets containing digital information related to at least one type of media content. The host application receives the data packets and distributes the data packets according to a dynamic multicast distribution scheme. The dynamic multicast distribution scheme changes, for each communication device, according to at least one communication metric through WiFi modulation, forward error correction, or audio codec sampling and bit rates.

Abstract: Example methods are provided for a host to perform queue filter configuration for multicast packet handling in a software-defined networking (SDN) environment. One example method may comprise the host generating and sending a request to join an outer multicast group address to one or more multicast-enabled network devices; and configuring a queue filter based on the outer multicast group address. In response to detecting an ingress encapsulated multicast packet that includes an outer header addressed to the outer multicast group address, the host may assign the ingress encapsulated multicast packet to a particular NIC queue from the multiple NIC queues based on the queue filter; and retrieving, from the particular NIC queue, the ingress encapsulated multicast packet to generate and send a decapsulated multicast packet to a virtualized computing instance.
