Abstract: In one example, an apparatus is provided. The apparatus is part of a mobile device and comprises: an array of pixel cells each configured to perform an image sensing operation, one or more attributes of the image sensing operation being configurable based on an image sensing configuration; a sensor data processor configured to execute a hierarchical set of processing operations; and a controller configured to: receive, from the sensor data processor, a first-level processing output from a first-level processing operation of the hierarchical set of processing operations; and based on the first-level processing output satisfying a condition, control the sensor data processor to execute a second-level processing operation on at least one image frame captured by the array of pixel cells to generate a second-level processing output.

Abstract: A projector for illuminating a target area is presented. The projector includes an array of emitters positioned on a substrate according to a distribution. Each emitter in the array of emitters has a non-circular emission area. Operation of at least a portion of the array of emitters is controlled based in part on emission instructions to emit light. The light from the projector is configured to illuminate the target area. The projector can be part of a depth camera assembly for depth sensing of a local area, or part of an eye tracker for determining a gaze direction for an eye.

Abstract: A device for providing a 1D line of an image is disclosed. The device includes a wavelength-tunable light source for providing image light having the angular distribution encoded in optical spectrum. The device further includes a thin slab waveguide having an out-coupler in form of a diffraction grating for out-coupling the image light at an angle dependent on wavelength. The image may be formed by scanning a collimated beam propagating in the slab waveguide when using tunable monochromatic light sources, or by forming the 1D singular distribution of brightness at a same time when using a tunable-spectrum light sources. The device may be used in a near-eye display for forming a 2D image in angular domain.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to orchestrating calls with an “active call bar” for an artificial reality (XR) environment displayed on an XR device, with a control bar for voice calls that persists across XR experiences. From the active call bar, a user can create a voice call with other users on XR devices, end the call, manage participants of the call, adjust the volume of the call, etc. The user can further see which XR experiences the other users within the party are accessing, and can invite them to join their XR experience. As the user moves between experiences and applications, the active call bar can persist on the user interface. Further, the user can continue the voice call across different experiences regardless of where other users are, i.e., users do not have to be co-located in the same experience to participate in the voice call.

The host renderer is configured to receive an encoded version of the artificial reality application's scene graph and issue processor rendering calls to render the drawable/renderable components of the scene graph. The host renderer abstracts the hardware level rendering calls and provides the artificial reality application access to hardware rendering via the host renderer. Implementations of the host renderer can perform rendering optimizations and issue a diverse set of processor rendering calls to diverse hardware.

Abstract: A system, device, and method for a universal intersystem connection are provided. In one aspect, a shielded twisted pair of wires electrically connects a first circuit board and a second circuit board in an apparatus, where the first and second circuit boards may communicate over the shielded twisted pair using differential signalling, and the first circuit board may also be powered by direct current (DC) power over the shielded twisted pair. In an example, the second circuit board is a controller of the first circuit board and may be electrically connected to a battery which powers the first circuit board via the shielded twisted pair. In other examples, a plurality of circuit boards may be electrically connected by the shielded twisted pair to a power source and may communicate with each other via differential signalling over shielded twisted pair.

A second defocus factor is generated in response to an alignment of a first intensity profile of the adjustment image and a second intensity profile of the adjustment image. A focusing lens of the display projector assembly is adjusted in response to at least one of the first defocus factor and the second defocus factor.
