Abstract:
A recording medium, such as a high-density and/or read-only recording medium including a data area including at least two data sections and a linking area to link neighboring data sections, the linking area including user data and parity data, and to methods and apparatuses for forming, recording, and reproducing the recording medium.
Abstract:
In a recordable optical disc including at least one recording layer, write strategy information is recorded within disc control information, so that standardized disc control information can be uniformly applied to data recording and reproduction. At least one disc information is recorded as the disc control information within the management area. The disc control information is recorded per at least one write strategy type for a same writing speed and recording layer. The write strategy type recorded in the corresponding disc information is determined by recording write strategy parameters of the optionally determined write strategy type among applicable write strategy types.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are a recording medium, an apparatus for forming the recording medium, and an apparatus and method for reproducing the recording medium. CPI (Copy Protection-related Information), identification information (CPI_Flag) indicative of recording or non-recording of the CPI, and/or a plurality of contents specific information (CSI) with different formats are recorded in a PIC (Permanent Information & Control data) zone of a high-density optical disc such as a BD-ROM (Blu-ray Disc-ROM). A formatting operation and mastering operation are performed under the condition that control data including the CPI, CPI_Flag and/or CSI is separated from main data. An optical disc device judges whether the optical disc has been illegally copied, with reference to the CPI, CPI_Flag and/or CSI read from the optical disc, and compulsorily stops a data playback operation upon judging that the disc has been illegally copied. Therefore, it is possible to effectively protect an optical disc from illegal copying, make an accurate and easy distinction between a legally made optical disc and an illegally made optical disc, and restrict reproduction of an illegally made optical disc.
Abstract:
A read-only recording medium and a reproducing method thereof, are discussed. According to an embodiment, the read-only recording medium includes a plurality of data units recorded on the read-only recording medium, each data unit connected by a linking data unit having a predetermined size, wherein the linking data unit is identified by an identifier.
Abstract:
A high-density optical disc, a method for encrypting data and recording the encrypted data thereon, and a method for reproducing the encrypted data recorded thereon. Data recorded on a high-density optical disc such as a Blu-ray disc-read only memory (BD-ROM) is recorded in a discontinuous recording format as on a high-density rewritable optical disc such as a Blu-ray disc rewritable (BD-RE). Data can be encrypted and recorded using synchronous data, address unit number (AUN) information or disc radius information recorded in the high-density optical disc. An optical disc apparatus such as a BD-ROM player can maintain reproduction compatibility with the high-density rewritable optical disc such as the BD-RE. A user holding an optical disc apparatus such as a BD-RE recorder, etc. can be prevented from unlawfully copying data recorded on the high-density optical disc and reproducing the copied data.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to method and apparatus of converting a series of data words into modulated signals. This method divides a data word, which a sync signal is to be added in front or rear of when it is written in a recording medium, into two or more word segments, generates for each word segment a number of intermediate sequences by combining mutually different digital words with that word segment, scrambles these intermediate sequences to form alternative sequences, translates each alternative sequence into a (d,k) constrained sequence, checks how many undesired sub-sequences are contained in each (d,k) constrained sequence, and selects one (d,k) constrained sequence for recording on an optical or magneto-optical recording medium among the (d,k) constrained sequences not having the undesired sub-sequence. Applying this method to a modulating device, DSV control can be conducted by much simpler hardware.
Abstract:
A method for joining two ceramic parts, or a ceramic part and a metal part, and the joint formed thereby. The method provides two or more parts, a braze consisting of a mixture of copper oxide and silver, a diffusion barrier, and then heats the braze for a time and at a temperature sufficient to form the braze into a bond holding the two or more parts together. The diffusion barrier is an oxidizable metal that forms either a homogeneous component of the braze, a heterogeneous component of the braze, a separate layer bordering the braze, or combinations thereof. The oxidizable metal is selected from the group Al, Mg, Cr, Si, Ni, Co, Mn, Ti, Zr, Hf, Pt, Pd, Au, lanthanides, and combinations thereof.
Abstract:
Provided is a door basket for a refrigerator. The door basket includes a case, a cover, and a contact member. The case is mounted on a rear side of a refrigerator door and forms a space for receiving food. The cover is axially coupled between both sides of the case and selectively shielding the case through up/down rotation. The contact member is provided on an inner side of the case contacting one end of the cover when the cover is completely opened, and formed of an electrical material to relieve a contact impact with the cover.
Abstract:
A user interface method in a multimedia playing device having a touch screen is provided. The user interface method includes displaying, while playing a multimedia file, at least one sound source object in a first area of the touch screen, identifying, if an input event is generated for the sound source object, a type of the input event, changing a form of the displayed sound source object according to the type of the input event, and controlling the play of the multimedia file. Accordingly, while playing a multimedia file, an attribute of a playing multimedia file is displayed in a touch screen of a multimedia playing device, and the attribute of the playing multimedia file may easily be changed by touching and dragging the touch screen.
Abstract:
