Abstract:
An apparatus for and a method of adaptive motion compensated de-interlacing of video data, in which one of a spatio-temporal method and a motion compensation method is adaptively selected according to a motion type. Motion vectors of a video field to be interpolated and an accuracy of the motion vectors are estimated using adjacent fields. An existence or non-existence of global motion is determined by analyzing the estimated motion vectors. Pixels generated according to a spatio-temporal interpolation method or pixels generated according to a motion compensated interpolation method are selected based on the accuracy of the estimated motion vectors and the existence or non-existence of global motion.

This application relates to monomers of the general formula (I) for the preparation of PNA (peptide nucleic acid) oligomers and provides method for the synthesis of both predefined sequence PNA oligomers and random sequence PNA oligomers: wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 is independently H, halogen, C1–C4 alkyl, nitro, nitrile, C1–C4 alkoxy, halogenated C1–C4 alkyl, or halogenated C1–C4 alkoxy, wherein at least one of R1, R3, and R5 is nitro; R6 is H or protected or unprotected side chain of natural or unnatural α-amino acid; and B is a natural or unnatural nucleobase, wherein when said nucleobase has an exocyclic amino function, said function is protected by protecting group which is labile to acids but stable to weak to medium bases.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an apparatus and method for compensating for estimated motion vectors by deciding whether a pattern image exists in target blocks for motion estimation. A motion estimation part compares a current block of a current frame/field to a search area established in a previous frame/field, calculates plural motion estimation error values, and estimates a temporary motion vector of the current block based on the plural motion estimation error values. A pattern decision part analyzes the calculated motion estimation error values, and decides that the current block is a pattern image. A motion compensation part produces a compensation motion vector of the current block by use of the plural motion estimation error values if the current block is decided as the pattern image. A motion vector selection part selects a final motion vector based on a result of the pattern decision part.

A humanoid robot fall controller controls motion of a robot to minimize damage when it determines that a fall is unavoidable. The robot controller detects a state of the robot during the fall and determines a desired rotational velocity that will allow the robot to re-orient itself during the fall to land on a predetermined target body segment (e.g., a backpack). The predetermined target body segment can be specially designed to absorb the impact of the fall and protect important components of the robot.

A touch panel which is used as an input device for an electronic device, etc., and an electronic device including the touch panel are provided. A touch panel includes a first substrate, and a second substrate spaced from the first substrate by a distance and having a contact surface. A fluid is filled in a gap between the first substrate and the second substrate, and an input button area is delimited due to movement of the fluid when a driving voltage is applied. If a thickness of the gap between the first substrate and the second substrate is reduced below a threshold thickness value in the input button area, the driving voltage is cut off.

A touch panel and an electronic device are provided. The touch panel includes a first substrate; a second substrate that is spaced apart from the first substrate by a gap and includes a contact surface; driving electrodes that are formed on each of the first substrate and the second substrate; and electro-rheological fluid that is disposed in the gap. When a driving voltage is applied between the driving electrodes, a button area is delimited due to a variation in viscosity of the electro-rheological fluid at the button area. When a thickness of the gap is reduced to a value equal to or less than a threshold due to a pressing force applied to the contact surface at the button area, the driving voltage is cut off.

The hub is provided with a plurality of connector members, each having an abutting face and being pivoted to two pivot pieces of a pivot holder, to which the pole of the tent is coupled. A fastening member is pivotally inserted between the two pivot pieces of the pivot holder. The inner end of the fastening member is formed with an abutting portion opposing to the abutting face of the connector member, the outer end of which is provided with a press portion extending over the pivot holder. A spring is positioned between the inner end of the fastening member and the pivot holder.
