Abstract: An apparatus for partially supporting a leaflet of a regurgitant heart valve comprises at least one subvalvular device including a subvalvular supporting portion including a leaflet-contacting upper supporter surface longitudinally spaced from an oppositely facing lower supporter surface. A supporter perimeter wall extends longitudinally between the upper and lower supporter surfaces, with at least a portion contacting a subvalvular cardiac wall adjacent to the heart valve. An anchor portion is adjacent to, and longitudinally spaced from, the upper supporter surface. The anchor portion includes a leaflet-contacting lower anchor surface longitudinally spaced from an oppositely facing upper anchor surface. A connector neck is interposed longitudinally between, and is directly attached to both of, the upper supporter surface and the lower anchor surface. The connector neck penetrates longitudinally through at least one of a base of the leaflet and an annulus of the heart valve at a manufactured puncture site.

Abstract: A method of identifying an epileptogenic zone of a subjects brain includes: receiving a plurality N of physiological brain signals that extend over a duration, each of the plurality N of physiological brain signals acquired from the subjects brain; calculating within a time window a state transition matrix based on at least a portion of each of the plurality N of physiological brain signals, wherein the state transition matrix is a linear time invariant model of a network of N nodes corresponding to the plurality N of physiological brain signals; calculating a minimum norm of a perturbation on the state transition matrix that causes the network to transition from a stable state to an unstable state; and assigning a fragility metric to each of the plurality N of physiological brain signals based on the minimum norm of the perturbation for that physiological brain signal.

Abstract: A temperature-regulating garment is provided for assisting a user with regulating body temperature. A garment body has first and second major garment body edges. The garment body has a neckline formed by a least a portion of the first major garment body edge. The garment body has a front right panel, a front left panel, and a back panel. At least one armhole is located laterally between the back panel and a selected one of the right front panel and the left front panel. First and second neck pockets are each configured to accept a temperature-regulating pack. The first neck pocket is disposed upon at least one of the right front panel and the back panel, spanning the first major garment body edge. The second neck pocket is disposed upon at least one of the left front panel and the back panel, spanning the first major garment body edge.

Abstract: A modular dilation device (100) is provided for inserting multiple dilators into a target patient tissue site. The modular dilation device includes a first dilator (104) and a second dilator (530). The first dilator has a first dilator distal end (108) and a first dilator inner lumen (114). The first dilator has a first dilator side wall opening (118). The first dilator distal end has a first dilator open tip (116). The first dilator has a first dilator open slit (120). The first dilator open slit extends between the first dilator side wall opening and the first dilator open tip. The second dilator has a second dilator distal end and a second dilator inner lumen. The second dilator distal end has a second dilator open tip. When the second dilator is joined to the first dilator, the second dilator open tip is adjacent to the first dilator side wall opening.

Abstract: An apparatus for repairing the function of a diseased valve includes a tubular first support member which is expandable to a first average diameter and has oppositely disposed proximal and distal first support member ends. A tubular second support member is spaced axially apart from the first support member and is expandable to a second average diameter that is smaller than the first average diameter. The second support member has oppositely disposed proximal and distal second support member ends. A tubular graft section interconnects the first and second support members and has oppositely disposed proximal and distal graft section ends axially spaced apart by a graft section body. The proximal graft section end is connected directly to the distal first support member end and the distal graft section end is connected directly to the proximal second support member end.
