A light device for curing a dental composition, comprising a light-source, a housing, a passive heat sink, first and second thermal pathways enabling heat transfer between the light source and the heat sink as well as between the heat sink and the housing. The first thermal pathway is dominated by thermal conduction, and the second thermal pathway is dominated by thermal radiation and thermal convection. The invention helps to provide an inexpensive and compact design of the device.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention provide a high-performance content management system with a log-based data storage. To speed data operations, updates and deletes are appended to log-based data files. Seek operations are not needed as old data is not overwritten or removed at the time of write operations. Instead, the log-based data files are periodically optimized by processes that compact data entries and remove data files containing old data. In addition, an associated index with entries accessible in constant time is used to facilitate the process of locating data entries within the data files. Embodiments of the log-based data storage are implemented in a standard file format for ease of development and maintenance and can be compressed to further improve performance. In one embodiment, the log-based data storage corresponds to a node-based logical data tree that can be adapted to house a variety of data, including data from relational databases.

A chain link for a conveying chain of a machine of the tobacco-processing industry, in particular a storage device for a rod-shaped tobacco product, includes holding means for a hinge pin and a hinge pin bearing for connecting the chain link to adjacent chain links, and a carrying surface for carrying a tobacco product, which carrying surface is arranged substantially parallel to the hinge plane defined by the hinge axes. The chain link is designed laterally for cooperation with a deflection plate of the machine which rotates about a substantially vertical axis. During cooperation with the deflection plate the chain link is designed to pivot about a longitudinal pivot axis parallel to the longitudinal axis. The chain link has a guide element which cooperates with the deflection plate and which is designed in such a way that a pivot movement of the chain link about the longitudinal pivot axis is counteracted by a frictional force exerted by the deflection plate on the guide element. On the side of the carrying surface the chain link is designed to cooperate with a round deflection roller of the machine, which rotates about a substantially horizontal axis, wherein contact of the chain link with the deflection roller lies in the region of one of the hinge axes.

A method and a device are used for carrying out measurements on cells located in a liquid environment. Each cell is positioned with an underside of its membrane on a surface having a channel running through it. A negative pressure is established to aspirate the cells. Each cell is electrically scanned via at least one electrode which is spaced apart from the cell. The negative pressure is preferably established in a pulse-like manner to rupture the membrane in such a way that the cell interior enclosed by the membrane is connected to the channel.

Each of said groups includes a plurality of messages in series and separated by time intervals, wherein each of the plurality of messages in a group includes control information such that control of the receiver can be effected by reception of any one of the plurality of messages in the group. The invention increases the efficiency with which control messages can be transmitted without markedly increasing the power consumption of transceivers in a radio frequency network.
