Abstract: A medical grade cooler or freezer uses a Peltier system without the use of vapor compression refrigeration. An opening may be cut through a wall, for example, a top, bottom, rear or side wall, of the cooler or freezer and the Peltier device sealed within that opening with the hot side exposed outside of the cooler or freezer and the cold side exposed inside the cooler. When a voltage is applied to the Peltier device, the interior temperature of the cooler may be reduced. The Peltier devices can also be reversed by applying voltage in the opposite direction to remove heat from outside of the cooler and pump heat into the cooler or freezer.

Abstract: A rheology modifier or associative thickener formed as a block copolymer for use in surface coating compositions, such as architectural paint compositions, that can alter its properties as a result of changes in environmental conditions is provided. Abstract: A series of materials that exhibit a range of dilatant properties have been synthesized. The materials show good transparency and are chemically uniform, that is, they consist of a single chemical component. The dilatant properties likely are due to the presence of both aggregated and non-aggregated forms of the oligomers. The degree of dilatancy can be modified by adjusting the monomer composition. The range of dilatant properties, good transparency, and single chemical component nature of the dilatant samples make these materials of particular interest.
