Abstract: Disclosed are method and apparatus for processing of highway toll payments by a mobile telecommunications service provider. A mobile telecommunications device communicates with a mobile telecommunications service provider. The mobile telecommunications service provider receives a request to calculate a route to a destination. The mobile telecommunications service provider determines the location of the mobile telecommunications device from a global navigation satellite system or from a mobile telecommunications network and calculates a route. The mobile telecommunications service provider then identifies toll booths along the calculated route. The mobile telecommunications service provider pre-pays the tolls. The mobile telecommunications service provider sends turn-by-turn instructions to the mobile telecommunications device and tracks the location of the mobile telecommunications device and records the date and time at which the mobile telecommunications device passes through a toll booth.

Abstract: In one example, a method and apparatus for web browsing on multihomed mobile devices having multiple communication interfaces are disclosed. In one example, the method establishes a primary multiple path transmission control protocol subflow for the transfer of a resource from a server to a user endpoint device. The method then determines a threshold of resource size. When the size of the resource is determined to exceed the threshold, the method establishes a secondary multipath transmission control protocol connection that cooperates with the primary multiple path transmission control protocol subflow for the transfer of the resource from the server to the user endpoint device.

Abstract: A multimedia conferencing service uses accessible-forwarding-plane network elements such as OpenFlow® controllers and OpenFlow®-enabled switches. A conferencing server receives a conference subscription request including a network address of a L2/L3 signaling server, and connects to an accessible-forwarding-plane controller to control an accessible-forwarding-plane switch. Flow tables and group tables are managed to classify traffic with minimum table usage and update frequency. Media channels are established between clients through the OpenFlow®-enabled switches, relieving bottlenecks at the conferencing server.

Embodiments include calculating an overall video traffic metric for the group of video sessions for each cell based on the network information and include determining a first overall video traffic metric of a first cell is above a first predetermined threshold and a second overall video traffic metric of a second cell is below the first predetermined threshold. Also, embodiments include generating a graphical map that indicates the overall video traffic metric for each cell in the cellular network and sending the graphical map to a mobile device in the first cell showing first overall video traffic metric and the second overall video traffic metric relative to the first predetermined threshold. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: A system, method, and computer-readable storage media for reducing monopolization of a frequency channel during full-duplex communications. The MAC layer of governing communications can be modified to reduce likelihood of monopolization by (1) in networks which are exclusively filled with full-duplex devices, configuring non-communicating devices to ignore data collisions of communicating devices, requiring the communicating devices to wait for an standard backoff time after the data transmission is complete; and/or (2) in mixed half-duplex/full-duplex networks, requiring a half-duplex nodes and/or a full-duplex node to wait an extended duration after the data transmission is complete, while the non-communicating devices do not wait an extended duration.

Abstract: A system that incorporates the subject disclosure may include, for example, determining an interference based on a channel gain for each signal of a group of signals received at a receiver from a group of transmitters. A determination is made of an interference value based on a group of interference signals received at a receiver from a group of transmitters, wherein the interference value is based on channel gains that are estimated for the group of transmitters, and wherein a portion of the interference is self-interference generated from transmitting and receiving at a same time. One of an analog time domain cancellation, a digital time domain cancellation or both, is performed responsive to a determination that the interference value does not satisfy a threshold range of an analog-to-digital converter of the receiver. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: A method, computer-readable storage device, and apparatus for allocating a plurality of timeslots of each channel of a plurality of channels in a wireless network are disclosed. For example, the method determines a location and a velocity for each user endpoint device of a plurality of user endpoint devices, estimates a future data rate for each user endpoint device at the location, estimates future timeslot allocations of each channel of the plurality of channels in the wireless network in accordance with the future data rate that is predicted for each user endpoint device, and allocates each timeslot of the plurality of timeslots of each channel of the plurality of channels in the wireless network to a user endpoint device of the plurality of user endpoint devices in accordance with the future timeslot allocations that are estimated for each channel.
