摘要： A process cartridge detachably mountable to a main assembly of an electrophotographic image forming apparatus, the process cartridge includes an electrophotographic photosensitive drum; process means actable on the electrophotographic photosensitive drum; a cartridge frame; a drum shutter movable between a close position in which the drum shutter covers an exposed portion of the electrophotographic photosensitive drum which is exposed through the cartridge frame and an open position in which drum shutter is retracted from the close position to expose the portion of the electrophotographic photosensitive drum, the drum shutter having a first shutter portion rotatably supported on the cartridge frame and a second rotatably supported on the cartridge frame, wherein in the close position, the first shutter portion covers an upstream side of the exposed portion with respect to an opening direction in which the drum shutter moves from the close position to the open position, and the second shutter portion covers a downstream side of the exposed portion with respect to the opening direction, and wherein in the open position, the first shutter portion and the second shutter portion are overlapped with each other in the widthwise direction of the drum shutter.

摘要： A bearing has a thrust plate integrated with its shaft and a bearing member surrounds both. A radial pressure bearing portion and separate thrust portion generate pressure on a lubricating fluid in a gap between the shaft and bearing member. One end of the gap is closed while the other is open and has a capillary seal formed with an angle that is large at a boundary but smaller at increasing distance therefrom. The fluids fills the gap so that gas-fluid interface is where the angle is small and causes the thrust plate to float. A pressure mechanism forces the fluid from the open to the closed end and the quantity of fluid is set to fill the mechanism even if the gas-fluid interface moves.

The hydroxygallium phthalocyanine may preferably be produced through a process including treating a halogenated gallium phthalocyanine for conversion into a hydrous hydroxygallium phthalocyanine, freeze-drying the hydrous hydroxygallium phthalocyanine into a low-crystallinity hydroxygallium phthalocyanine, and milling the low-crystallinity hydroxygallium phthalocyanine.

摘要： A multi-terminal surge protection device able to absorb surges of either polarity between lines and between a line and ground, in which the difference in operating time between the device elements connected to lines is reduced. A plurality of unipolar surge protection device elements are used which only operate to absorb surges of a specific polarity, and do not exhibit a reverse withstand characteristic upon application of a reverse-polarity voltage. One element is connected to a first line and another element to a second line, while a different element is connected to ground. A semiconductor substrate and second electrode are used that are common to all elements. To prevent lateral interference between elements, at least the element connected to ground is isolated from the line elements.

摘要： A sheet-postprocessing apparatus includes a sheet discharger which discharges sheets to a stacker, the stacker including a first tray adjacent to the discharger for supporting trailing portions of the sheets discharged by the discharger and a second tray for supporting leading portions of the sheets, the second tray being movable in a vertical direction and disposed downstream of the first tray with respect to a sheet discharge direction, the trays being inclined so that sheets stacked thereon slide by their own weight, such that a stack of sheets supported on both trays are stapled by a stapler, the stapled set of sheets then being pushed out of the first tray to be stacked entirely by the second tray. The sheet post-processing apparatus operates in two modes, a stapling mode and a non-stapling mode wherein sheets discharged by the discharger bypass the first tray and are supported entirely by the second downstream tray.
