Abstract:
The present invention relates to soft contact lenses having an overall comfort preference of at least about 2 to 1 as compared to an Acuvue® contact lens and measured after one week of daily wear. The present invention further relates to a soft contact lens comprising an oxygen transmissibility greater than about 70 barrers/mm and physical properties suitable to provide wearer comfort over at least about 9 hours in at least about 80% of wearers, as measured in a randomized, double masked clinical study.

Abstract:
A four-wheeled recreational vehicle in the form of a go-cart having an open body without doors or windows. The body is formed from interconnected tubular members to define a chassis and frame. The vehicle includes a front suspension having V-shaped, parallel upper and lower control members including forward and rear control arms. The forward control arms are substantially perpendicular to the chassis centerline and the rear control arms incline inwardly and rearwardly from the front wheels. Greater vertical front wheel travel is provided for improved ride comfort and stability over rough terrain. The accelerator and brake pedals are placed closer to the front wheel pivot axis for greater legroom.
Abstract:
An exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system for an engine in which a portion of the exhaust gas is recirculated from an exhaust port of the engine into an intake port of the engine. The EGR system includes an exhaust gas recirculation line connecting said exhaust port of said engine to said intake port of said engine; a turbine disposed along the recirculation line; and a motor generator in operative communication with the turbine. The pressure and flow of a portion of said exhaust gas produced by said engine and recirculated from said exhaust port to said intake port is used to operate the turbine and the motor generator derives electric power from the operation of the turbine. In an embodiment, the motor generator can be used to drive the turbine to manipulate EGR flow. A method for recovering energy in connection with an EGR system is also disclosed.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to polymer compositions formed from a reactive mixture comprising at least one substantially non-reactive prepolymer comprising silicone containing groups and compatibilizing groups and a hydrophilic component comprising at least one monomer capable of hydrogen bonding with said prepolymer.
Abstract:
A shore power HVAC system for a vehicle is provided. The vehicle has a vehicular HVAC system with an engine compressor, a condenser, and an expansion valve and an evaporator coupled to each other in series by a plurality of conduits. The shore power HVAC system includes an electric compressor structured to compress a coolant fluid and a diverter valve structured to allow fluid to pass through a selected fluid path. The electric compressor is coupled to, and in fluid communication with the evaporator and the diverter valve. The diverter valve is further coupled to the engine compressor. Thus, a first coolant fluid loop and a second coolant fluid loop are created. The first coolant fluid loop passes through, in series, the engine compressor, the diverter valve, the condenser, the expansion valve, and the evaporator. The second coolant fluid loop passes through, in series, the electric compressor, the diverter valve, the condenser, the expansion valve and the evaporator. The diverter valve selectively directs which loop the coolant fluid may pass through.

Abstract:
A method for preparing a conjugated molecule comprising a first monomer coupled to a second monomer, said method comprising: (i) linking the first monomer to a solid support via the germanium atom of a germyl linking group; (ii) coupling the first monomer to the second monomer in a coupling position to form a bound conjugated molecule, wherein the second monomer has a protecting group in a non-coupling position; (iii) optionally sequentially coupling a third, fourth . . . and nth monomer to the second, third and (n−1)th monomer respectively; (iv) removing the protecting group; and (v) ipso-degermylation to release the bound conjugated molecule.
