Abstract: Implementations relate to automatically translating a customized automated assistant from a first language to a new language, so that the automated assistant can interpret spoken utterances in the new language and respond to such spoken utterances in the new language. For example, a customized automated assistant can be configured for use in a first language through the developer(s) providing input(s) that are in the first language, and thereafter automatically translated to a distinct second language for which no developer input is provided. The deployment of the customized automated assistant for utilization with the second language can be selective. For example, it can be selective in that it is only automatically deployed and/or is only suggested for deployment in response to determining that one or more objective criteria, that indicate accuracy and/or robustness of the second language translation of the customized automated assistant, are satisfied.

A method includes: receiving, from a first user of a first client device, a first query in a query session; providing, to the first user, a first set of search results; determining, based on at least one term in the first query, that the first query is relevant to a second user of the first client device; providing, to the second user, a selectable option to join the query session; in response to receiving, from the second user, an indication of acceptance of the selectable option, adding the second user to the query session; receiving, from the second user, additional input; generating, based on the additional input received from the second user, a modified set of search results; and providing, to the first user and the second user, the modified set of search results.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for providing actionable suggestions are disclosed. In one aspect, a method includes receiving (i) an indication that an event detection module has determined that a shared event of a particular type is presently occurring or has occurred, and (ii) data referencing an attribute associated with the shared event. The method includes selecting, from among multiple output templates that are each associated with a different type of shared event, a particular output template associated with the particular type of shared event detected by the module. The method generates a notification for output using at least (i) the selected particular output template, and (ii) the data referencing the attribute associated with the shared event. The method then provides, for output to a user device, the notification that is generated.

Abstract: Implementations relate to automatic generation of speaker features for each of one or more particular text-dependent speaker verifications (TD-SVs) for a user. Implementations can generate speaker features for a particular TD-SV using instances of audio data that each capture a corresponding spoken utterance of the user during normal non-enrollment interactions with an automated assistant via one or more respective assistant devices. For example, a portion of an instance of audio data can be used in response to: (a) determining that recognized term(s) for the spoken utterance captured by that the portion correspond to the particular TD-SV; and (b) determining that an authentication measure, for the user and for the spoken utterance, satisfies a threshold. Implementations additionally or alternatively relate to utilization of speaker features, for each of one or more particular TD-SVs for a user, in determining whether to authenticate a spoken utterance for the user.

Abstract: A method includes obtaining proximity information for each of a plurality of assistant-enabled devices within an environment of a user device. Each assistant-enabled device is controllable by an assistant application to perform a respective set of available actions associated with the assistant-enabled device. For each assistant-enabled device, the method also includes determining a proximity score based on the proximity information indicating a proximity estimation of the corresponding assistant-enabled device relative to the user device. The method further includes generating, using the proximity scores determined for the assistant-enabled devices, a ranked list of candidate assistant-enabled devices, and for each corresponding assistant-enabled device in the ranked list, displaying, in a graphical user interface (GUI), a respective set of controls for performing the respective set of actions associated with the corresponding assistant-enabled device.

Abstract: Techniques are described herein for detecting and suppressing commands in media that may trigger another automated assistant. A method includes: determining, for each of a plurality of automated assistant devices in an environment that are each executing at least one automated assistant, an active capability of the automated assistant device; initiating playback of digital media by an automated assistant; in response to initiating playback, processing the digital media to identify an audio segment in the digital media that, upon playback, is expected to trigger activation of at least one automated assistant executing on at least one of the plurality of automated assistant devices in the environment, based on the active capability of the at least one of the plurality of automated assistant devices; and in response to identifying the audio segment in the digital media, modifying the digital media to suppress the activation of the at least one automated assistant.

Abstract: Techniques and a framework are described herein for constructing and/or updating, e.g., on top of a general-purpose knowledge graph, an “event-specific provisional knowledge graph.” In various implementations, live data stream(s) may be analyzed to identify entity(s) associated with a developing event. The entity(s) may form part of a general-purpose knowledge graph that includes entity nodes and edges between the entity nodes. Based on the identified one or more entities, an event-specific provisional knowledge graph may be constructed or updated in association with the developing event. In some implementations, the event-specific provisional knowledge graph may be queried for new information about the developing event. Computing devices may be caused to render, as output, the new information.

Abstract: To selecting a lane in a multi-lane road segment for a vehicle travelling on the road segment, a system determines current traffic information for the road segment including a plurality of lanes and applies the current traffic information to a machine learning (ML) model to generate an indication of one of the plurality of lanes in which the vehicle is to travel. Subsequently to the vehicle selecting the indicated lane, the system determines an amount of time the vehicle took to travel a certain distance following the selection, and provides the determined amount of time to the ML model as a feedback signal.

Abstract: Voice-based interaction with video content being presented by a media player application is enhanced through the use of an automated assistant capable of identifying when a spoken utterance by a user is a request to playback a specific scene in the video content. A query identified in a spoken utterance may be used to access stored scene metadata associated with video content being presented in the vicinity of the user to identify one or more locations in the video content that correspond to the query, such that a media control command may be issued to the media player application to cause the media player application to seek to a particular location in the video content that satisfies the query.
