摘要: Error vector magnitude (EVM) is pooled and adaptively distributed among carriers in a multi-standard or multi-carrier system to reduce peak to average power ratios (PAPR) without exceeding EVM limits. Correction tone injection is used to reduce PAPR. The amplitude of each correction tone, and number of correction tones assigned to a carrier, are adjusted to control the EVM and out-of-band distortion of each carrier, to comply with EVM limits imposed by the respective radio access technology.

摘要: The present invention relates to methods, a user equipment and a radio base station in a communication network, in which a downlink out-of-coverage is detected based on measurements done on a common channel or on the combination of common and dedicated channels. The out-of-coverage is then reported to the network, either using resources proactively assigned to the user equipment, or by transmitting a predetermined pattern of signature sequences assigned to the user equipment.

摘要: Method and arrangement in a serving base station for determining a binary value of information data received from a user equipment, by using a supportive likelihood value received from a supporting base station. The user equipment transmits information data to be received both by the serving base station and the supporting base station base station. The method comprises: decoding information data bits received from the user equipment into a first likelihood value, without determining a binary value for each bit of the information data, a supportive likelihood value of the information data bits transmitted from the user equipment is received from the supporting base station, which supportive likelihood value is based on a decoding of the information data bits performed in the supporting base station. The first likelihood value of the decoded information bits is combined with the received supportive likelihood value of the decoded information bits. Thus a binary value for each bit of the information data transmitted from the user equipment is determined, based on the combined first and supportive likelihood values.

摘要: A technique for generating a reference signal for use in a communication system in which for reference signal generation multiple base sequences are defined is presented. A method implementation of the technique comprises generating a first reference signal sequence from a first base sequence and a second reference signal sequence from a second base sequence. A reference signal is generated that comprises the first reference signal sequence and the second reference signal sequence. The first reference signal sequence occupies a first spectral fragment of the reference signal, and the second reference signal sequence occupies a second spectral fragment of the reference signal. The second spectral fragment and the first spectral fragment do not overlap.

摘要: A mobile terminal receives, over a first cell configured on a carrier frequency, at least one parameter associated with a second cell configured on a carrier frequency. The at least one parameter comprises a cell identity. The mobile terminal then derives at least one physical layer characteristic for the second cell based on the received at least one parameter. Thereby, the mobile terminal is able to receive transmissions over the second cell, even if it could not initially detect the presence of the cell.

摘要: In an example embodiment, a network node transmits secondary signal component of a combined wireless communication signal to a user equipment. The combined wireless communication signal includes the secondary signal component and a primary signal component. Secondary pilot resources of the secondary signal component are dynamically shifted relative to primary pilot resources of the primary signal component by an amount that is based on whether a current estimation procedure at the user equipment is a primary channel estimation procedure or a secondary channel estimation procedure. In a corresponding example embodiment, the user equipment receives the combined wireless communication signal with the dynamically shifted pilot resources. The user equipment estimates the primary channel in the primary channel estimation procedure and estimates the secondary channel in the secondary channel estimation procedure.

摘要: A method for determining a random access transmission power setting of a first communication device in a communications network includes receiving, at a first communication device, data from a second communication device indicating a random access reception power. The method also includes determining a desired random access reception power of the second communication device based on the received data and a parameter of random access configuration that influences a detection performance of the random access at the second communication device and determining a random access transmission power to use based on the desired random access reception power. The method additionally includes setting a random access transmission power setting of the first communication device in accordance with the determined random access transmission power.

摘要: According to the present invention, a receiving node of a telecommunications network (20) (e.g. a radio base station (22) in uplink, or a mobile terminal (24) in downlink) transmits a single acknowledgement message to a transmitting node (e.g. a mobile terminal (24) in uplink, or a radio base station (22) in downlink) in respect of signals received over a plurality of frequency-aggregated carriers (component carriers) (10) between the transmitting and receiving nodes. If all signals are decoded correctly in the receiving node, a positive acknowledgement message (ACK) is sent to the transmitting node; if not all signals are decoded correctly, a negative acknowledgement message (NACK) is sent, or no acknowledgement message is sent. In this way, a single acknowledgement message can be sent for signals received over multiple carriers. The acknowledgement message can have the same format as legacy standards (for example, as specified in Release 8 of the 3GPP specifications), providing compatibility with existing equipment. The number of messages is also reduced compared with the straightforward approach of transmitting individual acknowledgement messages per component carrier.
