    摘要： A hair control device for pools/spas and a method for using the same includes a grate disposable in the pump inlet of a pool/spa with a plurality of elongate flow channels extending between a first end of the grate and a second end of the grate. The elongate flow channels are isolated from one another so as to decrease turbulence and to prevent hair from tangling or knotting behind the grate in such a manner that a person's head is held under water. Preferably, the channels of the grate will be at least 18 inches long. The channels can be linear, or can be disposed in a helical pattern through the housing of the grate.

    摘要： A pressure regulating unit for providing two different controlled pressures includes a block made of a single piece of metal and having a mounting structure integrally provided thereon and a gas flow passage provided therein. A first regulator has a gas inlet communicating with a source of high-pressure gas having varying pressure and communicating with the gas flow passage. The first regulator is a step-down regulator for supplying a substantially constant pressure gas to second and third pressure regulators, enabling the second and third pressure regulators to be fixed at a predetermined, unmonitored pressure. At least the second and third regulators are supported on the mounting structure, and at least the second regulator has a gas inlet communicating with the flow passage. The second and third regulators provide the two pressures.

    摘要： An apparatus and method are disclosed for preventing or inhibiting the vandalism of bridges and other like structures. The apparatus includes a slant plate device having an elongate plate which is positioned so as to extend downwardly and outwardly from a central position on the vertical wall of an I-beam to a position adjacent a far lateral edge of the bottom flange of the I-beam. The plate is sloped sufficiently to inhibit a person from standing on the lower flange of the I-beam while applying graffiti or otherwise vandalizing the bridge. Several different support and attachment structures are also disclosed. The method includes positioning the elongate plate at an angle and attaching the plate to some permanent structure associated with the I-beam.

    摘要： A system to protect and reconfigure a computer network in case of advance warning of a disruption event that would disrupt the operation of the computer network is presented. The system comprises a main control system (MCS) that comprises a software system that makes continuous local backups of data nodes, maintains a plurality of remote backups, and maintains an ordered list of the remote backups. With the first warning of the disruption event, the MCS: 1) locks down some virtual servers at each remote backup and secures a selected remote backup; 2) determines the expected start and end time of the disruption event; 3) warns users about the disruption event; 4) uses the selected remote backup to provide a local copy of the data nodes; and 5) shuts down vulnerable critical systems. When the disruption event occurs, the MCS promotes the selected remote backup to be the primary data node.
