Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to provide a network-based caller identification (CID) service in a voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) network are disclosed. An example method comprises receiving a session initiation protocol (SIP) communication session initiation request message comprising an early-media indicator, disabling a ringtone generator, sending a SIP ringing message containing a session descriptor in response to the early-media indicator, receiving a ringtone based on the session descriptor, and presenting the ringtone to alert a user of a requested communication session.
Abstract:
A method for customization of communication session request notifications based on user preference information includes receiving a communication session invitation at a service provider. The service provider determines the intended target of the invitation, and identifies preference information associated with the target. In an embodiment, the preference information is associated with a user of the target communication device. The preference information includes a set of identifiers for multimedia content associated with particular users, groups, regions, or the like, or any combination thereof. Based on the session invitation, the service provider determines a particular identifier and provides the associated multimedia content to the target device. The preference information can be adjusted by a user to customize notifications for requests from particular users, groups, or regions, or any combination thereof.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to route a communication session directly to a voicemail mailbox are disclosed. An example method includes receiving a communication session initiation message from a caller at a source telephone number, the communication session initiation message including a destination telephone number and a direct voicemail feature identifier, determining that the direct voicemail feature identifier indicates that the caller requests that the call be sent to a voicemail mailbox associated with the destination telephone number, and forwarding the call directly to the voicemail mailbox associated with the destination telephone number without ringing the destination telephone number.
Abstract:
A replaceable gauging element assembly includes a series of gauge modules mounted in spaced series along a gauge bar. The gauge modules each include an upper section having a front face, an intermediate section and a lower section. A series of slots are formed in the front face of the gauge modules for receiving a series of gauge parts therein, with the gauge parts releasably secured within the modules by one or more fasteners. Access openings are formed in the modules for facilitating removal of broken gauge parts from the slots.
Abstract:
A technique for scheduling conferences includes receiving a conference request, which includes an invitee list, a prioritized list of preferred media types, and one or more times for a conference associated with the conference request. The conference is requested with respective invitees associated with the invitee list (via respective subscriber terminals) and it is determined whether the respective invitees can be scheduled for the conference. The conference is scheduled between a conference requester (associated with the conference request) and available ones of the respective invitees, when mandatory attendees, included within the respective invitees, are available.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to control a voice eXtensible Markup Language (VXML) session are disclosed. An example application server comprises an interface to send a first protocol message to a media server to initiate a communication session to provide first VXML content to the media server, and a session controller to detect an event at the application server and to direct the interface to send a second protocol message to the media server to interrupt the first VXML content at the media server and to direct the media server to obtain second VXML content via the communication session.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to provide a call-associated content service to voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) devices are disclosed. An example method comprises receiving a message comprising a uniform resource identifier (URI) and a call dialog parameter at a content mediator, the call dialog parameter associated with a first communication session between a voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) endpoint and a destination, establishing a second communication session from the mediator to the destination based on the URI and the call dialog parameter, receiving content associated with the first communication session via the second communication session, and providing the content to the VoIP endpoint.
Abstract:
The invention comprises a single-use, self-contained measuring device, comprising a data entry- and sampling part including a sensor for measuring of physical or chemical property of a foreign substance and a data acquisition part including electronic processing- and storage means, where the parts are integral parts of a packaging, formed of a sheet-like, printable and foldable material, the packaging being designed to enclose and protect the parts contained therein. The packaging may also include various instruments needed to perform a test.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention are directed to digitally encoded hierarchical timestamps that are stored in computer readable mediums. The hierarchical timestamps of the present invention include a first field that stores a timestamp value and a second field that stores a processing-level indication that indicates the scope of the timestamp within a hierarchical processing system.
Abstract:
A method of fabricating a flexible display, the method comprising selecting a first flexible sheet and a second flexible sheet; and forming a number of magnetic display elements having magnetically controllable reflectivity between the first flexible sheet and the second flexible sheet. In some embodiments, a display includes pixels having a magnetically controllable reflectivity. The pixels are formed between a pair of flexible non-conductive sheets. Each of the magnetically controllable pixels includes a flexible ring located between the flexible non-conductive sheets. Each of the magnetically controllable pixels also includes magnetic particles located within the flexible ring. The location of the magnetic particles with respect to the flexible non-conductive sheets determines the reflectivity of the pixel. The display is especially suitable for use in connection with portable electronic devices.
