Abstract: Disclosed are an intra-prediction method using filtering and an apparatus using the method. An image-decoding method comprises: a step of filtering an n upper reference pixel of a block to be predicted and neighboring pixels of the n upper reference pixel so as to obtain the filtered n upper reference pixel; and a step of filtering an n left reference pixel of a block to be predicted and neighboring pixels of the n left reference pixel so as to obtain the filtered n left reference pixel. According to the present invention, intra-prediction may be efficiently performed to improve image-encoding/decoding efficiency.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a technique for encoding and decoding video data, and more particularly, to a method for performing inter-prediction in an effective manner. The present invention combines an inter-prediction method using an AMVP mode and an inter-prediction method using a merge mode so as to propose a method for using the same candidate. The method for encoding video data proposed by the present invention comprises the following steps: receiving mode information on an inter-prediction method of a current block; determining, on the basis of the received mode information, whether the interprediction method to be applied to the current block is an AMVP mode or a merge mode; and selecting a candidate to derive motion information of the current block, wherein the candidate is selected in a left region, top region and corner region of the current block and in the same position block as the current block, and the AMVP mode and the merge mode are applied on the basis of the selected candidate.

Abstract: New intra planar modes are introduced for predicting digital video data. As part of the new intra planar modes, various methods are offered for predicting a first sample within a prediction unit, where the first sample is needed for referencing to when processing the new intra planar modes. And once the first sample is successfully predicted, the new intra planar modes are able to predict a sample of video data within the prediction unit by processing a bi-linear interpolation of four previously reconstructed reference samples.

Abstract: An inter-prediction method according to the present invention comprises the steps of: deriving a first movement vector of the current block; deriving prediction samples for the current block on the basis of the first movement vector; deriving a subunit located in the current block and adjacent to the target boundary of same; deriving a first reference unit on the basis of the subunit and first movement vector; deriving a second movement vector of a neighboring block adjacent to the target boundary; deriving a second reference unit on the basis of the subunit and second movement vector; and deriving the modified prediction samples on the basis of weighted sum of the first reference unit and second reference unit. According to the present invention, by increasing the effectiveness of inter-prediction at the block boundary, amount of data required for residual data can be reduced and the overall coding efficiency can be increased.
