    摘要: A method for clarifying a process fluid is disclosed. The process fluid is provided to a transport device. The process fluid comprises a process liquid that entrains a first solid of a first average particle size. A second solid of a second average particle size is provided to the transport device. The second average particle size is larger than the first average particle size. The process fluid passes through the second solid. The first solid adsorbs to, deposits on, fuses with, or is trapped by the second solid, producing a first solid-depleted process fluid and a first solid-loaded second solid. The first solid-loaded second solid is removed from the transport device continuously. The second solid is reconstituted from a portion of the first solid-loaded second solid. The second solid is recycled to the transport device. In this manner, the process fluid is clarified.

    摘要: Methods and devices are disclosed for reacting and separating components. An elongated vessel has a microchannel heat pipe with a hollow space inside the microchannel heat pipe being surrounded by inner walls. A feed stream and a reactant stream are passed into the hollow space, the reactant reacting, resulting in a product stream. A first end of the microchannel heat pipe is heated and an opposite end of the microchannel heat pipe is cooled, producing a gas phase and a liquid phase in reflux. The liquid phase attaches to the inner walls via capillary forces and the vapor phase makes up the balance of the hollow space. The reflux separates components in the product stream, a first portion passing out of a first end of the heat pipe as a liquid stream and a second portion passing out of a second end of the heat pipe as a vapor stream.

The device further includes a compound planetary transmission, consisting of a transmission ring attached to a ring gear, and receiving power from the first stator. The device further includes a second motor having a second stator. The second stator turns clockwise and counter-clockwise. The device further includes a shift assembly, consisting of a drum, a cap, and a pinion gear. The pinion gear receives power from the second stator. The drum locks with the pinion gear such that the drum rotates with the pinion gear. The transmission ring is attached to the drum, such that the transmission ring moves laterally as the drum rotates. The ring gear locks and unlocks with the cap as the drum rotates. The wobbling action enables the locking.

    摘要: A transmission apparatus is disclosed. The transmission apparatus includes at least a first gearset and a last gearset. Each gearset includes a sun gear, a set of planetary gears, and a ring gear. The ring gears have splined outer surfaces. Each gearset has a rotational speed and a torque. A drum encloses and mates with the gearsets. The drum has splined inner surfaces that mate with the splined outer surfaces. The last splined outer surface transfers the last torque of the last gearset directly to the drum. The drum transfers at least a portion of the last torque to the first splined outer surface of the first gearset. This reduces the first rotational speed of the first gearset and increases the first torque of the first gearset, thereby reducing the last rotational speed of the last gearset and increasing the last torque of the last gearset.
