Abstract: An auxiliary device for charging and facilitating hardware shutdown/reset of an electronic device includes a charge transmitter configured to transmit electric power signals, an input user interface for receiving a user input, a wireless control signal transmitter configured to transmit wireless control signals, and a microcontroller unit (MCU). The MC is configured to: determine a user instruction based on the user input; enable the wireless control signal transmitter to transmit a wireless control signal in response to the user instruction; and control the charge transmitter to selectively transmit the electric power signals according to a timing sequence selected based on the user instruction. In some embodiments, the input user interface and the wireless control signal transmitter are a same device (e.g., a slidable magnet).

Abstract: Infusion devices, systems, and related operating methods are provided. A method of detecting an anomalous condition with respect to a fluid path based on operation of an actuation arrangement configured to deliver fluid via the fluid path involves providing input power to the actuation arrangement to produce actuation of the actuation arrangement, identifying an active amount of actuation of the actuation arrangement concurrent to the input power being provided to the actuation arrangement, disabling the input power to the actuation arrangement, identifying a passive amount of actuation of the actuation arrangement after disabling the input power to the actuation arrangement, and detecting the anomalous condition based on a relationship between the active amount and the passive amount.

In accordance with the methods and the systems, a computing system can obtain prescription information for a patient. The prescription information comprises a device prescription. The computing system can transform the prescription information into first configuration data comprising therapy settings for a first medical device referenced by the device prescription. The computing system can cause automatic configuration of the first medical device based on communicating the first configuration data to the first medical device.

Abstract: A method for automatically configuring a medical device with user-specific configuration data includes determining, by a first medical device, that the first medical device is being removed from service, wherein the first medical device was previously placed into service to provide therapy to a patient in accordance with user-specific configuration data stored on the first medical device, and wherein the first medical device is to be replaced with a second medical device that is a replacement medical device for the first medical device, and causing, by the first medical device in response to determining that the first medical device is being removed from service, configuration of the second medical device to provide therapy to the patient in accordance with the user-specific configuration data, wherein causing configuration of the second medical device comprises communicating the user-specific configuration data toward the second medical device.

Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for identifying an infusate in a reservoir of an infusion device and systems for use in filling fluid delivery devices are provided. An exemplary apparatus for identifying an infusate in a reservoir of an infusion device includes a chamber in selective fluid communication with the reservoir. Further, the apparatus includes an indicator located in the chamber. The indicator exhibits a visual change when contacted by an infusate. The apparatus also includes a detector arrangement to identify the infusate by detecting the visual change in the indicator. An exemplary detector arrangement may include a camera to capture an image of the infusate and indicator in the chamber, and an identifier element to compare image data to a library of stored image data.

Abstract: A fluid infusion device and related operating methods are disclosed. The fluid infusion device has a housing, a fluid pump mechanism, a transcutaneous conduit assembly having a fluid conduit coupled to the pump mechanism, and an insertion mechanism for inserting the conduit into the body. An exemplary method begins by detecting a first installation of a fluid cartridge module in the housing, wherein the detecting occurs after the housing has been affixed to the body. In response to the detecting, the operating method automatically activates the insertion mechanism to insert the fluid conduit into the body.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for a connection interface between a reservoir or syringe, infusion set tubing, and an infusion pump is provided. The reservoir, a base and a cap are connected to form an integrated unit that is capable of being inserted and secured in an infusion pump housing. The cap and the infusion pump are each provided with at least one sensor or at least one detectable feature, arranged to interact with at least one corresponding detectable feature or sensor on the other of the cap and infusion pump device, to detect one or more of the presence, position or other characteristic of the cap when the cap is aligned or coupled with the infusion pump housing. The detectable feature and sensor may be magnetic, RF, mechanical, optical or any combination.
