摘要： A digital contents distribution system has a multi-layered structure including a server device (CS device) of one or a small number of managers which are each to be a manager main body, a plurality of server devices (DS devices) of middle managers, and client terminal devices (SC terminal devices) of a large number of users. Accesses from the respective users are processed in the server devices of respective ones of the middle managers. It is therefore possible to prevent an inconvenience in which the accesses from a large number of users concentrate on the CS device of the manager. As a result, it is possible to reduce the load imposed on the CS device, and to perform a smooth distribution service of digital contents.

摘要： There is provided a catalyst for hydrotreating a hydrocarbon oil, which comprises an inorganic oxide support containing a certain amount of phosphorus oxide having provided thereon: at least one selected from metals in the Group 6 of the periodic table, at least one selected from metals in the Group 8 of the periodic table, and carbon, and which has a certain specific surface area, pore volume, and mean pore diameter, a process for producing the same, and a method for hydrotreating a hydrocarbon oil using the same. Thereby, the catalyst can be produced in a simple and convenient manner and sulfur compounds in the hydrocarbon oil can be exceedingly highly desulfurized and simultaneously nitrogen compounds can be diminished without necessitating severe operating conditions.

The MFP 1 transmits an e-mail message generated based on the received information to an e-mail address of the administrator of the MFP 1 that is stored in advance in a hard disk drive 207 of the MFP 1.

摘要： In a polarization mode dispersion compensating apparatus for controlling polarization mode dispersion of an optical signal, a first optical monitor detects and outputs, based on an optical signal outputted from a first optical transmission line having a grating, a first detection signal indicating magnitude of waveform distortion of the first optical transmission line, and a second optical monitor detects and outputs, based on an optical signal output from a second optical transmission line having a grating, a second detection signal indicating magnitude of waveform distortion of the second optical transmission line. A calculator circuit calculates from the first and second detection signals an output signal. A controller controls a polarization controller based on the output signal from the calculator circuit.

摘要： A magneto-resistance effect device (MR device) in which stable magneto-resistance characteristics may be achieved even if a layer of a soft magnetic material is reduced in width. The MR device includes a layer of a soft magnetic material 1, a rear end electrode 4, connected to one longitudinal end of the layer of a soft magnetic material 1, and a forward end electrode 5 connected to the opposite end of the soft magnetic material 1. On both ends of the layer of the soft magnetic material 1 are arranged magnetic domain stabilizers 2, 3 generating a bias magnetic field having a component parallel to the direction of width of the layer of a soft magnetic material 1. If the bias magnetic field sufficient to overcome the longitudinal magnetostatic anisotropy can be impressed, the direction of magnetization D.sub.f of the mono-layer soft magnetic material 1 is oriented in the direction of width. The electrical resistance of the magnetic domain stabilizers 2, 3 is selected to be larger than that of the soft magnetic material 1 for suppressing loss of the sense current i. The MR device 10 can be applied with advantage to a so-called vertical type MR head.

摘要： A video disc apparatus including a disc rotating device for rotating an optical video disc at a constant linear velocity, a tracking servo device for causing an optical pickup to tack a recording track on the optical video disc, and a translating device for translating the optical pickup along the radius of the optical pickup. It is detected by a detection device if the rotational frequency of the optical video disc by the disc rotating device is within a frequency range in the vicinity of the resonance frequency of the optical pickup. Depending on a detection output of the detection device the operation of an access controlling device is switched so that, in the frequency range in the vicinity of the resonance frequency of the optical pickup, a track jump control is performed for shifting the optical pickup towards the target track position on on the optical video disc with the tracking servo device in the energized state.
