Abstract:
Present invention relates to an electric double-layer capacitor having positive and negative electrodes containing nonporous carbon as an electrode active material. In the nonporous carbon, multiple layers of graphene having an average interplanar spacing d002 of 0.350 to 0.380 nm have been grown well. The positive and negative electrodes are impregnated with an electrolyte solution. The nonporous carbon is obtained by activating easily graphitizable carbon, which in turn is obtained by calcining needle coke or pitch made infusible. The elctrolyte solution is either a liquid electrolyte having a planar molecular structure or an electrolyte solution consisting of a liquid electrolyte dissolved in an organic solvent.
Abstract:
In a drum type washing machine, a drum 23 is mounted to rotate about a horizontal axis extending in the lateral direction in a tub 20. A tub opening 20b with a tub door 20a is formed in the tub 20 under the throw-in opening 3 formed in the front part of the top of the housing. A drum opening 23a with a drum door composed of a double door opening frontward and backward is formed in the peripheral wall of the drum 23. The drum 23 is stopped so that the drum opening 23b coincides with the tub opening 20b. The drum door 23a, forced into its opening direction, is held in a closed position by an engagement of a claw 43 and an engagement hole 53. When a user rotates a operation lever 63b for latching or unlatching the tub door 20, the drum door open/close mechanism 65 functions to make two rods 65a and 65b project or withdraw, whereby the drum door 23a is brought into an engaged or unengaged state. By this mechanism, the drum door 23a opens or closes with the opening or closing operation of the tub door 20a. Thus, the operation of the doors is simplified, and the laundry loaded into or unloaded out of the drum 23 by fewer working steps.
Abstract:
As a result of an effort made by us for the purpose of developing a therapeutic agent having a bone formation-stimulating effect by promoting the functions of osteoblasts, the present inventors discovered that a certain nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound exhibits a potent bone formation-stimulating effect on the osteoblast and thus can serve as an excellent prophylactic or therapeutic agent against a metabolic bone disease, whereby establishing the present invention. Thus, the present invention provides a 3,6-disubstituted 1,2,4-triazolo[4,3-b]pyridazine compound or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as well as a pharmaceutical composition comprising such a compound and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, especially a bone-forming agent.
Abstract:
A scroll compressor comprises a fixed scroll having a spiral-shaped wall body, and a swiveling scroll which has a spiral-shaped wall body and revolves while linking together the two wall bodies; the wall bodies have steps, and side faces of two end plates have high and low bottom faces in correspondence with the steps; a tip seal is provided along a join edge which connects top edges on different sides of each step, and a mechanism is provided therebetween to prevent the tip seals from becoming removed from the join edges. Furthermore, in the same scroll compressor, tip seals are provided respectively in two grooves, and join paths are provided respectively between a high-pressure compression chamber, which is formed with the bottom faces as one section, and the two grooves; the pressure inside the high-pressure compression chamber is used as a pressing force for the tip seals.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a carbon material from which an electric double layer capacitor (EDLC) having a large capacitance can be fabricated. First, a carbon material is activated to produce crystallites of graphite-like carbon having interlayer distances of 0.365 to 0.385 nm. Positive and negative plates are fabricated using the crystallites.
Abstract:
A scroll compressor for reducing fluid leakage at step portions of scroll members and improving the compression efficiency is disclosed. The reduction of leakage and a high compression efficiency can be realized without increasing the precision in the manufacture of the members. Between the engaged scroll members, a high-pressure space is formed close to the spiral center, and among points at which the spiral walls contact with each other immediately before the innermost closed space communicates with the high-pressure space, the innermost point is defined as a base point. The angular distance from the base point to the outer end of the spiral, measured along the inner-peripheral face of the spiral wall, is approximately 4&pgr; rad. The angular distance from the base point to the step portion of each end plate, measured along the inner-peripheral face of the spiral wall, is equal to or more than approximately 3&pgr; rad.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an electric double layer capacitor including polarizable electrodes immersed in an organic electrolyte, wherein a carbon material for forming the polarizable electrode is a carbon material including graphite-like microcrystalline carbon produced by effecting a heat treatment together with at least one of an alkali metal and an alkali metal compound at not less than a temperature at which alkali metal vapor is generated, and an electrostatic capacity is expressed by insertion of ions of a solute of the organic electrolyte into a space between microcrystalline carbon layers of the carbon material. Accordingly, it is possible to achieve an electrostatic capacity and a withstand voltage which exceed those of the conventional electric double layer capacitor based on the activated carbon system.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a process cartridge mountable to an image forming apparatus, comprising an image bearing member, at least one process means acting on the image bearing member, and a detection member for detecting the presence/absence of developer supplied to the image bearing member on the basis of electrostatic capacity.
Abstract:
A scroll compressor comprising a discharge port as small as possible is disclosed, which requires less recompressive force and has improved operational ability. The scroll compressor comprises a casing; a fixed scroll, movable in its axial direction, provided in the housing and comprising an end plate and a spiral protrusion built on one face of the end plate; a revolving scroll provided in the casing and comprising an end plate and a spiral protrusion built on one face of the end plate, wherein the spiral protrusions of each scroll are engaged with each other so as to form a spiral compression chamber; and a back pressure block for supporting the back face of the fixed scroll. In the structure, an introduced working gas is compressed in the compression chamber and then discharged according to the revolving operation of the revolving scroll; a discharge port joining the compression chamber is formed in the end plate of the fixed scroll; the back pressure block has a ring shape, and the inner-peripheral face of the back pressure block and the back face of the fixed scroll form a high-pressure chamber; and a discharge valve for opening and closing the discharge port is attached to the end plate of the fixed scroll and is provided in the high-pressure chamber.
Abstract:
This compressor 1 is for compressing an introduced working gas to a predetermined pressure and exhausting by means of the rotation of a crank shaft 5 which is rotatively supported by a front case 4 of a housing 1A by a main bearing 6, and has a partition means 31 (labyrinth seal for example) which is provided between the main bearing and a shaft seal 28 which is provided at the outer side of the main bearing along the axial direction, and separating a space in which the shaft seal is provided from a low pressure chamber 15 of the housing to form a sealing chamber 30, and a first lubricating agent supply passage 29 which is formed in the housing and is opened to the sealing chamber for supplying a lubricating agent to the sealing chamber. A part of the highly compressed lubricating agent which is supplied the sealing chamber can be leaked to the low pressure chamber via the partition means during the operation of said compressor.
