摘要: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media for representing and querying positional information for a hierarchical document (such as an XML document) are disclosed. In one set of embodiments, at least one word in the hierarchical document is associated with one or more word positions, and at least one element in the hierarchical document is associated with one or more word position ranges. The word positions and word position ranges are analyzed to determine whether a particular word or phrase is a direct or indirect descendant of a particular element in the hierarchical document. In various embodiments, the word positions are indexed in a first index and the word position ranges are indexed in a second index. Thus, the analysis may be efficiently performed by intersecting the first and second indexes. In further embodiments, the word position ranges may be encoded in a space efficient format for storage or transmittal.

摘要: An electrical energy generator with improved efficiency has a base on which is mounted an elastically deformable micromechanical element that has a section that is free to be displaced toward the base. An absorber of radioactively emitted particles is formed on the base or the displaceable section of the deformable element and a source is formed on the other of the displaceable section or the base facing the absorber across a small gap. The radioactive source emits charged particles such as electrons, resulting in a buildup of charge on the absorber, drawing the absorber and source together and storing mechanical energy as the deformable element is bent. When the force between the absorber and the source is sufficient to bring the absorber into effective electrical contact with the source, discharge of the charge between the source and absorber allows the deformable element to spring back, releasing the mechanical energy stored in the element. An electrical generator of improved efficiency includes a first energy source comprising a piezoelectric transducer secured to the deformable element to convert the released mechanical energy to electrical energy. A second energy source comprises a betavoltaic cell carried on the deformable element or electron collector cantilever beam to provide a direct current (DC) power output that can be added to the piezo-electric circuit's alternating current (AC) power output, such that there is a continuous power output that can be used to provide power to electronic circuits.

摘要: Aspects of the subject matter described herein relate to simulating storage devices. In aspects, a test automation engine instructs a simulator to simulate a storage device having certain characteristics such as a storage area network. The test automation engine then tests an application against the simulated storage device. Tests may include storage management requests and storage access requests. A provider may translate a request to one or more operations suitable to perform the request on the underlying simulated device. Shadow copies and the results of other storage management-related operations may be shared across computers via aspects of a simulation framework described herein.

摘要: In current Distributed Storage Systems, applications may determine the device on which data shall be stored. The invention provides a method for automatically selecting an individual storage device within a DSS. A method for automatically classifying a node in a network comprises determining data classes, automatically classifying data of said data classes stored on a node, determining the amount of stored data per data class, calculating data dominance values for each of the data classes, receiving a request that indicates a data type according to one of said data classes, and providing said dominance value according to the requested data class. Further, a method for automatically organizing nodes in a network comprises receiving a request for storing data of a particular data type, transmitting the request to storage nodes, receiving from the storage nodes respective dominance values, and selecting the node with the highest dominance value for storing the data.

摘要: A method determines a path between a first and a radio station of a radio communication system, whereby the radio communications system comprises, in addition to the first and the second radio station, one or more additional radio stations. A frequency band subdivided in to a number of subbands is used in order to communicate between the stations. At least one subband for communicating is assigned to each radio station. The bath extends over one or more of the additional radio stations so that information between the first and the second (AP) radio station can be transmitted over the path. The path is at least partially determined by a radio installation transmits at least path identification information to the first radio station. The radio installation additionally transmits, at least a portion of the radio stations of the path, respective path identification information and radio station identification information from at least one other radio station of the path and/or from the first and/or from the second radio station, and transmits subband information over at least one subband assigned to the at least one radio station, and transmits subband information over at least one subband assigned to the at least one radio corresponding to the radio station identification information.
