    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for performing, by a user equipment (UE), radio link monitoring based on discontinuous reception mode operation of the UE. Certain aspects provide a method for wireless communication. The method generally includes operating, at a user equipment (UE), in a discontinuous reception (DRX) mode of operation. The method further includes evaluating, by the UE, link quality between the UE and a base station (BS) at least once every time period, wherein the time period is based on a length of a DRX cycle of the UE operating in the DRX mode of operation and a reference signal (RS) period, wherein the BS is configured to transmit RS periodically every RS period.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for random access channel (RACH) timing in a wireless communication are described. A base station and a user equipment (UE) may perform a RACH procedure to establish a communication link between the base station the UE. The RACH timing associated with the RACH procedure may depend on the numerology used for the RACH procedure and may be conveyed by the base station to the UE in a control message or via system information. In some cases, the numerology may indicate the RACH timing, which may be used to determine a number of symbols or absolute time to be used for portions of the RACH procedure.

    Abstract: A network node of a communication network may determine that a target transmission power for a subsequent transmission by the network node is no longer optimal. In response to the determination, the network node may autonomously modify one or more parameters of the subsequent transmission, from a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) and/or a set resources for the subsequent transmission. The network node may then transmit a channel, based at least in part on the one or more modified parameters, to a target network node in the subsequent transmission. The target network node may determine that the network node has autonomously modified the one or more parameters of the transmission, from the modulation and coding scheme (MCS) and/or the set resources for the transmission. The target network node may process the transmission based on the determination.

    Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a downlink grant that does not include a downlink assignment index (DAI); determine a pre-defined bundle window, associated with ACK/NACK multiplexing or bundling, based at least in part on receiving the downlink grant that does not include the DAI; and transmit ACK/NACK feedback to acknowledge or negatively acknowledge one or more downlink communications received in the pre-defined bundle window. In some aspects, a UE may receive a downlink grant that does not include a DAI; determine a bundle window, associated with ACK/NACK multiplexing or bundling, based at least in part on receiving the downlink grant that does not include the DAI, wherein the bundle window is not pre-defined; and transmit ACK/NACK feedback to acknowledge or negatively acknowledge one or more downlink communications received in the bundle window.     Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for signaling and switching of beam pair links (BPLs) for directional transmission beams between a base station and a user equipment (UE). A threshold value may be determined, which corresponds to an amount of time for a UE to receive and decode control information, and apply a different BPL than a current BPL that that is in use. The UE may maintain a BPL for data, which is used during data transmission time intervals (TTIs) until an indication is received to change the BPL for data. The UE and the base station may determine to change between BPLs based at least in part on the threshold value and a scheduling offset between a control channel transmission that allocates resources for a data TTI and a start of the data TTI.
