A passive entry device is integrated within the personal convenience means and adapted to interact with the transportation vehicle for passively gaining access thereto. The passive entry device includes a receiver for receiving an interrogating signal from an electronic control module in the transportation vehicle. A transmitter is provided for broadcasting a response signal to the electronic control module. A controller is provided for controlling the transfer of the response signal to the electronic control module in response to the interrogating signal.

    摘要: A method is provided for self-aligning a transmitting frequency between a portable transceiving device and a base station transceiving device. A test signal is transmitted from one of a portable or base station transceiving devices to the other of the portable or base station transceiving devices. The test signal has a frequency that varies during the transmission. The varying of the frequency of the test signal generates a plurality of discrete signals. The other of the portable or base station transceiving devices measures a RSSI value of each discrete signal. The other of the portable or base station transceiving devices determines a discrete signal having a maximum RSSI value. At least a portion of a subsequent message from the other of the portable transceiving device or the base station transceiving device is transmitted at an optimum frequency used for the test signal identified by the test result signal.

    摘要: A method is provided for configuring an operation mode of a passive entry system of a vehicle. A configuration mode of a vehicle based communication module is enabled by depressing a predetermined combination of actuation buttons on a portable communication device to broadcast a configuration mode command signal. A passive entry configuration is selected by depressing a respective actuation button on the portable communication device when in the configuration mode. The portable communication device broadcasts a corresponding command signal to the vehicle based communication module identifying the selection. The corresponding command signal is received from the portable communication device and the selected passive entry configuration is adopted in response thereto.

The wake-up signal challenges the respective portable communication device for determining a presence of the portable communication device for allowing access to the vehicle.
