摘要: The present invention relates to a system for delivering a medical prosthesis into a body lumen. A preferred embodiment of the invention utilizes a catheter having a stent mounted at the distal end that is released into the body lumen by movement of an outer sheath covering the stent in the proximal direction. The stent expands to conform to the inner wall of the lumen and the catheter is withdrawn.

摘要: A self-expanding endoluminal device comprising at least one tubular filamentary member having a hollow core for receiving a guidewire, the tubular member having a straightened configuration with the guidewire in the hollow core and a shape memory configuration without the guidewire in the hollow core. A delivery system includes the guidewire. The hollow core may contain a substance that is adapted to be eluted from the tubular member or permanently contained inside. The device may further comprise a graft. The device may also comprise a plurality of filamentary members, more than one of which may comprise tubular members. The device may also have a severable extension that extends outside of the body through which the substance may be periodically injected.

摘要: A distal tip for a catheter comprises first and second lumens extending therethrough, wherein in an operative configuration, the first and second lumens are coupled to first and second lumens of a dual lumen catheter with a first opening of the distal tip fluidly connected to the first lumen for inflow of fluid from a body lumen into which the distal tip is inserted in a normal mode of operation and for outflow of fluid thereto in a reverse mode of operation and a second opening fluidly connected to the second lumen. The second opening is disposed distally from the first opening and separated therefrom by a selected stagger distance for outflow of fluid therefrom when the catheter is in the normal mode of operation and for inflow of fluid from the body lumen in a reverse mode of operation. The distal tip also includes a contoured flow deflection element directing, in the reverse mode of operation, outflow from the first opening away from the second opening and a contoured outlet portion of the second opening reducing an outflow velocity therefrom in the normal mode of operation.

摘要: A port for implantation within a body, comprises a housing having a proximal surface, a distal surface and a side surface wherein, when the port is implanted within a body in a desired orientation, the proximal surface faces outward toward the skin, the distal surface faces inward away from the skin and the side surface extends between the proximal and distal surfaces and a first well formed within the housing, the first well including a first opening in the proximal surface. A second well is formed in the housing adjacent to the first well and has a second opening formed in the proximal surface. First and second outlet openings formed on the side surface of the port are in fluid communication with the first and second wells, respectively, and are separated from one another by a distance substantially equal to a distance separating lumens of a dual lumen catheter to which the port is to be connected. In addition, a method of infusing fluids to a patient, comprises attaching a dual lumen catheter to a blood vessel of the patient and implanting subcutaneously a port including first and second openings separated by a distance substantially equal to a distance between the dual lumens of the catheter, wherein the first opening is in fluid communication with a first well of the port and the second opening is in fluid communication with a second well of the port. The dual lumen catheter is then connected to the first and second openings of the port and a first fluid is provided to the first well while a second fluid is provided to the second well.

摘要: Methods and devices are provided for anchoring suture to bone. In one exemplary embodiment, a cannulated suture anchor is provided and it includes a suture-engaging member formed therein and configured to receive a suture therearound such that trailing ends of the suture can extend through the suture anchor. The suture anchor can also include at least a proximal portion having dual threads to facilitate engagement with bone. The present invention also provides exemplary sutures and drivers that can be used with the various methods and devices disclosed herein, or with other methods and devices known in the art.

摘要: Methods and devices are provided for forming bone tunnels. In general, the methods and devices allow multiple converging tunnels to be formed in bone, such as in an arthroscopic surgical procedure, e.g., a rotator cuff repair surgical procedure. One or more sutures can be advanced through the converging tunnels, and the suture(s) can be coupled to tissue. The suture(s) with the tissue coupled thereto can be tensioned, thereby helping to maximize an amount of the tissue in contact with the bone. In an exemplary embodiment, a guide device is provided that can be configured to allow a first tunnel to be formed in bone and to allow a plurality of additional tunnels to be formed in the bone at predetermined angular positions relative to the first tunnel such that each of the additional tunnels can extend transverse to the first tunnel and intersect the first tunnel.

摘要: A thrombus filter which can be securely fixed at a selected location in the vascular system of a patient and removed when no longer required. The thrombus filter includes a body portion and a plurality of struts, each strut having a joined end and a free end. The joined end of each strut is fixably attached to the body portion. The struts radiate outwardly from the body member such that the thrombus filter is generally conical in shape. The free end of each strut includes an anchor member. A weakened portion is disposed proximate the free end of each strut. When removal of the thrombus filter is desired, forces are applied to the thrombus filter causing the struts to break at the weakened portions proximate the free ends.
