Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a communication method and system for converging a 5th-generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4th-generation (4G) system with a technology for internet of things (IoT). The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services. A method for receiving system information (SI) by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system is provided. The method includes receiving, from a base station (BS), first type SI associated with SI which is essential for communication with the BS, transmitting, to the BS, a physical random access channel (PRACH) preamble based on the first type SI, receiving, from the BS, a random access response (RAR) message, and receiving, from the BS, second type SI associated with at least one SI which the UE needs.

Abstract: A method and system for assigning a unique logical address in a cloud cell having a mobile station, slave base stations and a master base station are provided. The method includes determining at least one unassigned logical address from respective address spaces associated with the slave base stations and the master base station in the cloud cell by the master base station, selecting the unique logical address from the at least one unassigned logical address determined from the respective address spaces associated with the plurality of base stations, and assigning the selected unique logical address to the mobile station in the cloud cell. The mobile station and each of the plurality of base stations communicate in the cloud cell using the assigned unique logical address.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a system for securing discovery information being transmitted through a direct radio signal in a wireless communication system which supports a device-to-device service, and a device-to-device communication method of a transmission terminal, according to one embodiment of the present invention, can comprise the steps of: synchronizing with a discovery resource cycle number; determining discovery channel logical timing information of a discovery physical channel through which discovery information is to be transmitted; generating security information by using a security key, the determined discovery channel logical timing information and the discovery information to be transmitted; and transmitting the discovery information including the security information through the discovery physical channel. According to one embodiment of the present invention, it is possible to prevent discovery information of a terminal to be wrongly transmitted due to a case where another rogue terminal receives and changes the discovery information of the terminal, or the like.

Abstract: A method and a system for signaling and processing control information in a cloud cell environment are provided. According to an embodiment, in a cloud cell, a master Base Station (BS) coordinates with other BSs to determine resources available for use on communication links between a mobile station in the cloud cell and one or all the BSs during a scheduling interval. Based on the resources available, the master BS allocates cumulative resources associated with the BSs to the mobile station for the scheduling interval. Then, the master BS transmits resource allocation control information indicating the allocated cumulative resources to the mobile station over a communication link between the master BS and the mobile station. Upon receiving the resource allocation control information, the mobile station decodes the information and receives data packets from each of the BSs during the scheduling interval according to the decoded resource allocation control information.

A method for managing resources for Device to Device (D2D) communication includes: establishing a radio connection with an evolved NodeB (eNB); receiving allocated resources for D2D communication from the eNB through the radio connection; performing the D2D communication by using the allocated resources in an idle state after the radio connection is released; and responsive to receiving a message from the eNB indicating a release of the allocated resources, releasing the allocated resources.
